The principle of concentration is a powerful element in whatever endeavor you may attempt. Setting priorities, organizing and good time management all come under this principle. It is an easily overlooked concept that can lead to chaos if not harnessed in a way to promote your own personal and business goals and objectives.
     
The Old Testament records a story of a cupbearer to a King named Nehemiah. When Nehemiah heard the news that the walls of Jerusalem had been destroyed and no effort was being made to rebuild the city he loved, he became narrowly focused on how he might go and rally the remnant living nearby to rebuild the walls. This was a massive undertaking but he received the blessing of the King, purchased the materials necessary, surveyed the city to determine what would be required, prayed a lot and in only 52 days, completed the task that could reasonably have required a year if all went well. He was able to accomplish this monumental project as a result of clearly defined goals, delegating the jobs, and concentrating every bit of energy and creativity toward the goal for which he was obviously passionate and motivated while all along not allowing any distractions to interfere with his plans. These are each significant components making up the overall principle of concentration. 
 
Great things are accomplished only when we have a clear vision of what is really important and what we want to achieve in a given set of circumstances utilizing the resources with which we have been endowed. A shotgun approach is seldom effective. The human brain is designed to focus on a given area and when combined with a passionate purposeful vision. This concentrated effort will produce the potential to accomplish tasks and achieve results we may otherwise consider impossible.
     
One of the reasons for the specialization of services and skills in the corporate world is due to this principle. That is, more will be accomplished by one who is trained and regularly working in a specific area of expertise than if that same person is doing multifaceted work. Franchising is another way this concept has been developed in recent years. Concentrated effort will propel you and your new business to unimaginable heights when you concentrate your efforts.

In the online world one must focus on his/her strengths and hire or partner with others who specialize in specific online expertise, otherwise you will drown trying to learn and do it all.  When I started realizing how much there is to learn online I recognized that I had to pull out one my old offline tools - delegation.  I cover this in greater detail in an article entitled: Leverage, but for now suffice it to say that if you have certain talents, abilties and resources that are clear to you then focus or concentrate on those strengths while letting others, more expert in marketing or pay-per-click, or writing, or product creation, use their strengths in cooperation with your own to achieve online success.
