Put the Powerful word 'if' into your phone calls.

The power of using 'if' in your conversations is that it will open your prospect up to more possibilities, and more importantly, it will take the pressure off of them having to give an answer before they are ready.  'If' is evocative and implies the chance to pretend or imagine, the conversation can be about wishes and possibilities and give you the chance to get to know them better and to find out what is really important to them.

Here are some sample 'if' questions you might want to use for exploration with prospects on your follow-up phone calls:

  • If you were going to use _______, how would you most want it to help you?
  • If you thought this _______ would be of benefit to you, would you want to get started taking it right away? Get the order placed and on its way?
  • If you were going to start taking using our product, would you be willing to commit to taking it for at least 3-6 months?
  • If you were going to seriously look at this business, what would be the most important aspect to consider when making your decision?
  • If you believe this is the right business for you, how much are you able to invest in the launch of your business?
  • If you were going to do this businesses, what would have to happen for you to feel that you are successful?

Remember to take your prospect's imagination where THEY want to go!

The Power of Language

Lnnguage is such a powerful tool. The "if" statement allows the prospect to feel "safe" and not pressured. Don't forget, ask a question and then LISTEN.
