Jerry Chen and Kathleen Ronald (Queen of Business Connecting)A few days ago I had dinner and coffee with my good friend Kathleen Ronald, who is one of the highest rated women keynote speakers in the country... and since we haven't seen each other for a few months we had lots to catch up on.  (Oh, by the way, she interviewed Ferny & Ray about Better Networker and the network marketing industry back in December if you haven't read the article.)

So we got talking about friendship and business and what not... And as we exchanged some invaluable coaching tips... (so glad that I constantly expand my skills and knowledge so I have something of value to offer her in return) a very interesting subject came up... which was how to handle situations in which certain people, particularly our friends who continually disrepect our time, be it seeking free consulting and advice, presenting an opportunity or whatever else.

Are You Guilty of This?

After a few years of studying, practicing and and seeking to perfect the art of communicating and connecting with others in the industry, and of course Internet marketing the last couple of years... I've observed that the entitlement mindset being one of the biggest reasons why people do not succeed, whatever success means to them.

While it is true that the upline's most important responsibility in our industry should be helping the downline members succeed, it also creates a trap that could cause the undisciplined to take things for granted.  Pretty soon, that becomes standard business practice to them.

I'm sure you've seen it happen.

Free is not valued as greatly as something that takes time, effort or money to acquire.  That is built into our subconscious.  And those that don't treat "free" advice with care and attention will fall victim to their own short-sighted thinking.

So what that translates into, as network marketers start learning about Internet Marketing and PAID consulting, is that they whine and complain about the cost of the advice and coaching...

But you know what, of all of the Internet Marketing courses and training I've invested in... all $21,000+... not a red cent was wasted!  If something didn't work... it's because I didn't follow the instructions!

We The Better Networkers

This community is LOADED with good "free" content and good people.  Seek out the golden nuggests in this community to help grow your business.  If you don't have the time, go buy a course with organized lessons and instructions and take action. Remember the price is always right if we take personal responsibility.

3 Sentences......

"Free is not valued as greatly as something that takes time, effort or money to acquire.  That is built into our subconscious.  And those that don't treat "free" advice with care and attention will fall victim to their own short-sighted thinking."

Jerry I promise you those 3 sentences describe my product, The Million Dollar Notebook to the T!!! I might have to quote you! Better yet....you should give me a testimonial and add those 3 lines to it...lol.

I did my due dilligence and studied my butt off to know what I know. And the majority of what I learned came from FREE nuggets I picked up along the way. Your exactly right when you say people don't treat free advice with care and attention...that's why people have so many questions about the simplest things. If they would have just paid attention to the FREE content that top marketer's and guru's gave out - they would be alot better off - instead of waiting on their next course to come out. When they purchase it.....they want it to tell them exactly how to get the $$$ step-by-step fail proof. After that doesn't happen, they get pissed and blame everyone but themselves.

I knew clicking your article was going to be worth it....lol.

Michael

Yup, if we all just pay a little more attention to what we hear, see and read... there are golden nuggets in many "unexpected" sources.  Those that don't pay attention to the free stuff are likely to get little out of the "paid" stuff unless they change their mindset.  And that's if they know they need to change, or more importantly, if they're willing to change. Looking forward to your book.
