Yes Friend, the Christmas Season, the Holiday Cheer, Season for giving, is upon us once again, except for the forgotten hero’s that untimely war creates. I'm speaking of the little ones, the little hero’s that have made the sacrifice of a parent, mother or father, that has been called into active service; to defend our great nation, and to keep our nation free of tyranny and chaos that open borders would inevitably create. What about these little hero’s, what about these silent hero’s, the real hero’s, that have at such a young age already have learned the deep meaning of sacrifice for our nation. They have made the silent and seemingly unforgotten sacrifice of a mom or a dad or both that have been called into active service somewhere across the globe, and once again the season of giving only brings about feelings of sadness and loneliness as these brave little hero’s, once again alone suffering feelings of abandonment are passed by this season of giving. This is how the season would tragically be, if it were not for the open hearts, and overwhelming generosity of the Kiwanis Clubs; of Maine, and for your kindness, and generosity this holiday season. The Kiwanis club; by their successful launch; of the program they so admirably called in 2007 Operation Holiday Cheer, the success; of the program received rave reviews and recognition by Congress and the press, so much so that this year they have expanded the program; of overwhelming support, and generosity; to include all of New England, including New York. Make this holiday season a cheerful one; for these young heroes’. The silent hero's these seemingly forgotten young hero’s, while their parents are away, defending our borders, and making our country free; from the invasion; of outside tyranny, let us not forget the real hero’s, left alone again; on Christmas day.
