Things To Do On St. Patrick’s Day If You Are Not Irish
Ok so the Blog is not really excluding our Irish friends but I thought it would grab your attention.
However if you do find yourself not celebrating with Guinness or Green Beer then there is something you can do – develop a social media marketing plan if you don’t have one.
Well you may be on Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, Twitter, Linkedin, Blog and Personalised Landing Page but do you have a clear plan how these elements fit together?
My advice would be to focus on developing a professional presence on Facebook, YouTube and Linkedin as your social networking presences. MySpace has become more difficult to stand out professionally and invite friends with a common interest so I would leave it for now.
As I mentioned in my last Blog regarding Facebook you need to have a professional profile in these networks:
• A professional photograph or logo as your profile image
• Brand yourself and the brand must be used consistently used
• The brand should be based on one or two words that sum up who you are
• For example mine is APeel Solutions – based on my Solution brand word
• To provide solutions you have to identify the Big Problem which identifies your niche
• Ensure the profile is fully completed and that you explain your vision in your profile
• Join groups that are relevant to your niche and this is where you will invite friends from. Mike Klinger refers this part of your strategy as your ‘fishing pool’. This is because you are attracting not hunting.
• Twitter is the same and YOU MUST have a presence here. It is the fastest growing social media site and has doubled in members since September 2008.
• Twitter is used to micro blog any new services you may have or articles, ezines and Blogs you have produced again for example I have nearly 1000 followers so that many people see the message
• Add to that Facebook has an application that feeds your tweets into your feeds so your friends see it as well
• Linkedin is much more static and appeals to fellow professionals or professionals looking to make a change of career
• YouTube is massively powerful simply because of the number of unique visitors it gets per day. Here it’s less about going and looking for prospects but providing value added content
• Content can range from a small 30sec film saying you have a legitimate business opportunity in your area or 5 minute instructional videos on what you have learned. You will soon find people subscribing to your channel because it goes viral
• To make the video marketing process go even more viral you submit the video to TubeMogul. This service blasts your video to about 7 – 8 video sites for free.
They then get picked up by other sites and put there. I have submitted 12 videos no longer 50 seconds and now rank positions 1, 2, 4 and 8 on the organic left hand side of Google for the search term ‘home business opportunities’ in my City in the UK.
So I hope this provides you with some ideas of what to do on St. Patrick’s Day if you are not to involved in the festivities.
If you enjoyed this Article I would be grateful if you could 'digg it' thanks.
