You may be asking "What is twitter?" and "Who cares how big its getting?" Well lets answer the first question and then we'll move onto why you should care.
What is Twitter?
Twitter is another way to find people, meet people and communicate with them quickly and easily. The short is it's a great way to build an audience and communicate with them. If you are in business then Twitter is something you should be using as one of the easiest Web 2.0 sites out there.
Who cares?
If you're in business then you should! The key to success is relationships. Customers purchase from you because you in some fashion have supplied them with information (internet ads, tv commercial, website, etc.) about your company or product and you built some form of trust. You built a relationship worthy of the sale.
With Twitter and other Web 2.0 social media websites the purpose is 'attraction marketing'. You supply your audience with valuable information. In turn this builds you as trustworthy and as a person/company to know, buy from and do business with.
In business today having a person's email address is a vital piece of contact information because it allows you, with their permission, to put offers and valuable information in front of them. Now with Twitter you can put that information in front of thousands of people on a regular basis for FREE!

I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I find twitter is so slow. Not the actual internet, but twitter itself. My stuff takes forever to load and basically drives me nuts. However, I understand the importance of this media tool, and do my very best to keep my frustration in check! Sorry Twitter, I am hating on you right now because you won't post my last update!
twitter problems
I believe Twitter is having some serious growing pains. Growing as fast as they are is really messing with their servers. Hopefully they will get more servers to handle all of the traffic. Also as a side note, I like using TweetDeck to organize everything. Once you have a few hundred that you are following it gets a little crazy not using an app like TweetDeck. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask.
