Two Types of People

Read More: Discipline  |  Personal Development  |  Positive Thinking

In my 29 years of network marketing, I've found there are two types of people - those who make excuses (or blame) and those who make money. Network marketing creates an equal opportunity for everyone. The circumstances of your life don't matter, as I've met network marketing millionaires from 18 to over 80, both men and women, all ethnic groups, college educated and didn't finish high school, business background and no business back ground, and all walks of life. Anyone can be successful in this business.

The key to success is you. Are you going to make excuses - not enough time, not enough money, don't know enough people, aren't good with people, can't do presentations, need to be home with the kids, afraid of what people will think or say - those are just a few that I hear regularly and when I hear them, I immediately know that those people are not going to make money. I also hear a lot of blame - no upline help, sponsor didn't put anyone under me, company doesn't supply training, system doesn't work, blah blah blah. Again, I know that this person isn't going to make any money.

My first 10 years of network marketing I was a miserable failure. I did everything wrong, but I learned from each experience and then used what I learned to build bigger networks each time. For the last 7 years I've been retired and living off the residual income from my last venture. I never made any excuses or blamed anyone and the result was that I made money. Now, I didn't have any upline support, no one sponsored anyone under me, there wasn't a training system, and at the time I was working a full-time corporate job and had five children at home. There were plenty of opportunies for excuses and blame. Now, don't get me wrong, I did plenty of blaming and making excuses in the past, and I didn't make money, but I learned and I hope you will too.

I'm now excited to be back in network marketing and building another large network and stream of residual income. In these crazy economic times (and it will get worse), it makes sense to have multiple streams of income. I've learned to watch my tongue, as it can get me in a lot of trouble. There is a great little book called Hung by the Tongue that every network marketer should read. I believe that more businesses are destroyed and dreams dashed by the tongue than for any other reason. There is power in what you say. The Bible says that there is life and death in the tongue. Are you speaking life or death to your business? If you're complaining all the time, then you are speaking death to your business. The Bible also tells us that we should speak things that are not, as though they were. So speak about your business and future as you want them to be, not as they are now. Your mind will move toward that dominant thought and the coordinating actions will take you to success.

I want to see everyone of you succeed in network marketing. It doesn't matter to me whether you are with my company or on my team; I just want you to succeed, so feel free to e-mail me by clicking HERE to ask questions or get some minor coaching. Also, please share with me your network marketing success stories. I'll share some of them in my blog at www.NMPowerSecrets.com.

"Its All Success"

Rod,

As you said in  your article, "My first 10 years of network marketing I was a miserable failure. I did everything wrong, but I learned from each experience and then used what I learned to build bigger networks each time"

This statement is the exact reason why the name of my company (my ME, INC.) is IT'S ALL SUCCESS(Creating Abundance From Home). As a professional in the field of psychology for almost 20 years I have watched how people devlop and grow from their presumed failures even more so than from their supposed successes. I have not been involved with network marketing nearly as long as you, but from what I've seen, it is no different here. If you start with the belief that there is some learning to be done and there will be bumps, bruises and losses along the way..but that these will lead you to your goal if you don't give up...then every experience you have in this industry will be a SUCCESS.

Any questions about this philosphy...let me know...IT"S ALL SUCCESS!!

Excuses

Yes, some people do not have a successful mindset.

For others it truly is not their fault. There was no system in place to help, teach or encourage.

People want to know.... Can I do this? Will you help me?

If I can do it, you can.

I found the system for success. Three easy steps.

I have been given the map, it is up to me to follow it or not. The only thing stopping me, is me.

Sincerely,

Connie Loeschen

Words are powerful

Just like Nike says Just do it, this a trap that so many people fall into when first starting out in business when something goes wrong we all have a tendency to want to blame and make excuses.I've been in business a long time and believe me if I made an excuse for every failure of mine I could probably write book.

I to have also learned to watch my tongue by listening more and speaking less, excuses are for losers and I chose not to be a part of that group. So watch what you say you never know who might be listening.

I do agree BUT...

I do agree that mindset does play a HUGE part, but, like anothers said above, no matter what your mindset, if you don't have the right product or service (say you have something that nobody wants or needs) or you don't have a great team of people backing you or have anyone showing you the way, or have great resources, you will fail!  There is way more to it than just the right attitude, JMO!

Sir what you said is correct. The thing is that one should be committed to do the work in correct method. Don,t become failures because you dont study the matter well. If excuses are made in the study time, the learning time itself you will be a failure.People should understand that the Residual Income will come and have rest then.

You are truly an inspiration !

Many people would have soothed you on your journey assuring you your lack of success was not your fault.  I mean you had no upline support, no system, no training.  Your lack of success was not your fault but look at you !  By not accepting that philosophy, knowing your success was based on your level of knowledge, your desire, your drive you attained success.  Congratulations.

I always question "If it's not your fault - who's is it?"

Excellent article.  I will look forward to more.
