Vision vs Mission - What is the Difference?
Vision vs Mission Statements - What is the Difference?
If you are going to be a strong leader, you must be able to speak and understand business lingo.
What is the difference between a mission statement and vision statement?
Vision Statement: This statement is best crafted as one brief sentence. It is a statment that everyone on a team can repeat at the drop of a hat. The bottom line, the vision statment tells everyone why the company exists or what the organization ideally wants to be, all things being perfect. Again, I love the vision statement that GE (General Electric) had. "We Bring Good Things to Light". Vision statements galvanizes and excites people and instills pride. It focuses on people within the organization.
Mission Statement: This statment expands on the why we exist or the ideal state of the company. It focuses on people within and outside of the organization. Rather than one brief sentence, the mission statment is usually several sentences long. The statement will convey the name of the organization, why the organization exists, who it will serve and the ways it will serve. A brief statement about your ethical and social views should be included.
