What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a program you would have some connection through either by product or social network. This is usually web based marketing. Usually affiliate programs are free to join or you would have to buy their product to become an affiliate. 

Most
programs go through a process called revenue sharing. Where the
affiliate gets a percentage of the sale or revenue. This could be paid
to the affiliate monthly or just a one time sale. Some programs are
multi tier programs like MLM/Network Marketing company. Depending on
the program.

Affiliate marketing goes hand to hand with internet
marketing methods to some degree, because of its use of regular
advertising methods. These methods include search engine optimization,
email marketing, and some sense of displaying ads. Most affiliates use
techniques like publishing reviews of products or services offered by a
partner.
