What's Your Excuse? (... Another Reason Why So Few Make It To The Top)

I want to ask you a hard question...

If you're not where you want to be in your network marketing

business, who's to blame?

If your answer is anyone other than "you"... then YOU are the problem.

Yeah, I know that's blunt ... deal with it.

Ultimately YOU, and you alone, are responsible for your own success

or failure in this industry.

If you haven't already done so, it's time to accept that responsiblity.

Ultimately, your success is NOT your upline's responsiblity.  It's yours.

You have to care MORE THAN your upline (or any one else in your life),

because in the end, no-one can (or will) do this for you.

The old saying:  "if it's going to be, it's up to me" is just as true today as

when it was first coined many years ago.  If you haven't indelibly scrawled that

message into your mind, now's the time.

Read it again:   "if it's going to be, it's up to me"

Do you believe that?  If your answer is "yes, but...",

that's not good enough.

There are no buts... you either subscribe to that statement (in FULL) or

you don't.

Most people don't.

Most people are looking to shift the blame off themselves and find others to

shoulder it with them.

Most people make excuses for their own performance (or lack thereof).

Listen to me.

For everyone who has it better or easier than you, there's someone who's has it harder,

and many have transcended their circumstances and fought their way to the top.

If they can, why not you?

Have you got it tough?  My advise is simple:

Saddle up,  stop looking at everyone else, and focus on you

and what YOU can do to make your business work.

There's always a way IF you're willing to look hard enough for it.  Unfortunately,

most networkers never find that "way" because deep down they're not really looking...

they're too busy doing something else: "making excuses"

Here's a few that might sound familiar?

"I have no upline support"

"My JOB's really demanding"

"My network marketing opportunity has no real training"

"I'm overloaded with information - I don't know what to do"

"Everyone's telling me something different - I'm confused"

"My upline has never placed a single person under me"

"I don't have enough time"

"My upline doesn't know what they're doing"

"My upline doesn't care"

"I spent all this money on leads (or training or seminars) and nothing's working"

"My company's product has too much competition"

I hear these (and one's just like 'em) from networkers all the time.  What amazes me

is how those who voice them never once stop to consider that they're not the only

ones facing challenges!  That they're not the only ones with situations that are "less than

ideal."  That plenty of others have poor uplines, confusing comp plans, skeptical

friends, not enough time, on and on.

Stop focusing on what's not right and start focusing on what you can do to

win this game.

Instead of thinking "why you can't", start thinking about "how you can"...

in fact, frame it as a question.  Ask yourself:

HOW CAN I...

Rearrange my time and devote more of it to prospecting?

Find someone ELSE to mentor under in my upline.

Attract more prospects to ME rather than chase after crummy leads?

Differentiate my product so that my prospect realizes we have no REAL competition.

Cut through the information maze and set-out on a clear course of action

    Etc. Etc. Etc.

Here's the key: if you're failing, you must start taking responsibility for that rather

than trying to put it on someone (or something) else.

THEN... adjust your thinking so that it's solution oriented.  When you do that, you will

discover solutions to even the most vexing challenges.   Why?  Because your solution

is out there.   You simply need to be creative enough to find it.

In SurefireSponsoring.com I share some of my personal challenges I faced

on the path to success in this industry.  One of them was lack of time.  I worked long hours in a

corporate JOB, and spent 3-4 hours a day in my car commuting to & from it.

I had a choice.

I could sit around and keep using that as an excuse for my failure OR I could

OWN IT, and look for a creative solution.  That solution came in the form of a

suggestion from a friend... "why not turn your car into a mobile office..."

he said.  And so I did.  The result?  CHANGE!  Positive change.

I've learned in life there are always alternatives.  Solutions if you will, that

are available to those who seek them.

To find them, we must simply focus on "HOW WE CAN" rather than

"Why We Can't."

Sounds simple enough, and guess what?   It is!

If you truly want to succeed, stop making excuses and start

working your plan.  Don't have one?  Then make one.  It doesn't have

to be perfect because you can adjust it as you go.  Just set one down in

writing and start working it.  Write down what you know you need to

do and start doing it.  Every day.  Consistently.  Don't define your success

by the size of your check but rather by your consistency with sticking to

and implementing your plan.  The checks will follow.

Take responsibility... and take action.
