When Calling Prospects, Do Not Fear The Deadly Six-Foot Telephone With The Poisonous Fangs
Most of us dread having to pick up the telephone to tell someone about our business oppurtunity. Most people hate selling. But really, most people are afraid of selling. Think about it, let's be honest, you know I'm right. We procrastinate and find other things to do, anything to avoid picking up that phone. We would rather bungie jump blindfolded over an alligator farm during a severe thunderstorm then perform this activity!
I come from a background of advertising and marketing in the offline world. I have many years of telemarketing experience- calling businesses and home owners, and even I still dread having to call certain people. But what I have come to learn is- calling prospects or leads is not so diffucult if you come prepared and don't over think it, JUST DO IT!
* Prepare a script or notes you can use while talking on the phone. If you practice reading it many times to yourself you will have much more confidence.
* Make sure to ask plenty of questions and listen carefully to the answers. Let your prospects do most of the talking- build a relationship with them.
* Besides talking business, you should find out about their family, their job, their hobbies and their "why"-why they're looking for a home business- this will help you discover their future goals and dreams.
* If you get too nervous or forget something, simply say "hang on." Take a deep breath, compose yourself- gather your thoughts and move on.
* Make it fun! Put on some music you really like in the background Go into this with a positive mindset. Remember, you are offering people something that could truly change their lives forever!
The best thing about calling prospects or leads on the telephone is that no one can see you. You can call people from the privacy of your home. They don't know if you are reading from a piece of paper. They can't see that you may be nervous. Just try to relax and do your best.
When calling prospects always remember- THERE IS FEAR BUT NO DANGER! I assure you, no one is ever going to become so angry with you that they put a contract out on your life. The worst thing that can happen is that the person says no to you. Don't take it personally. I know it can be hard sometimes but just move on.

Good advice Brad but
Good advice Brad but some people just cannot get over,past or around this fear by themselves.
No the Phone can't bite, I even had a sign by my phone sayng that
it didn't work but I did have the sign.
I had another sign saying Smile, I used to smile a lot but I still didn't make the calls
I'm over it now but I remember the hell I was in before I got through it.
I think it was mainly feelings of guilt because it's only a phone after all. Not using it makes you feel like a failure and pretty much guarantees you will fail.
