WHO CARES????
Really, who does care? We are all here to make money...lots of it.
After all, even the leaders in this industry tell us that prospecting is the key to
success, and that its just a numbers game.
Well, if that's all it takes is just meeting the numbers, why are there
still so many marketers failing? Is something missing?
Absolutely! Let's say you are building your network marketing business
and have two hours to prospect after coming home from your job. Now,
you can run through say a list of 50 suspect profiles by sending them
your generic sales message, or, you can actually click on each profile,
and take the time to read about that "suspect" - who they are, their
family, their successes and failures, where they live, their current
business...that's the beauty of web 2.0 prospecting: you can get a lot
of information on your prospect and essentially start to get to know
them. Then send each one a nice introductory message including what you
enjoyed about reading their profile. You might only be able to contact
15 or 20 in the same time frame, but which method do you think is more
effective? Remember the old saying: you only have one chance to
make a first impression. What would your impression be if someone took
the time to read about you?
The question comes down to this: Why should your prospect care about you if
you don't care about them? If they are considering joining an
opportunity, what does that say, or, more importantly, NOT say about
your leadership? This is a unique industry. Unlike conventional marketing businesses
where you can earn the major portion of your income from the direct
sale, you cannot be successful if you cannot teach others to duplicate
what you do. Duplication not only pertains to marketing systems, but is
also a philosophy. Show others you care about them, and they will not
only join you, but also become your leaders who care about their
prospects. True duplication. When everyone takes an interest in each other,
you have a real team and your business will flourish.
