WHY DO "YOU" DO NETWORK MARKETING?

Got a question for you:
Why do YOU do network marketing?

Why are you involved in MLM?   What drives you?  While we're all part of the same industry, we're not all here for the same reasons.  So tell me, why are YOU here?  What is it about our industry that keeps you involved, active and participating in it?

I thought it'd be interesting to explore this because the answers we uncover may just give us some additional insight into our prospects, and what's may be driving them.  And THAT is important information to know, wouldn't you agree?   To me, knowing what my prospects are thinking helps me attract and recruit more of the right people and GROW my business... and I think it can help you grow yours too.

One of the mistakes I made early on as a network marketer was "seeing prospects through my lens," and that gave me a distorted point of view.  I made assumptions ones that were often wrong, or that just didn't apply.  The result?  I didn't "connect" as well as I could've and that cost me!

While there's certainly commonalities, there's also a lot of differences that drive us.  For instance:  when asked the question:  "what's making you look at network marketing" most prospects will reply:   "money."   But when we dig deeper, we uncover a variety of reasons (real reasons) why they're looking at our industry, don't we.

Beyond money, what's your reason?   Did you fall in love with a product, and transition into the business side of things OR were you looking for a business, and if so, why?  What brought you to that place?  What drives you to do what you do?

I can tell you the what drives me:  freedom.

Freedom to live where I want, travel when and where I want, pursue hobbies (I'm currently studying Cantonese cooking), and live without an alarm clock.  Beyond that though, I enjoy helping others succeed, overcome the odds and make it big.

How about you?  Why are you involved with network marketing.  What attracted you?  Are you passionate about what you do?  If so, why?

WHY AM I HERE??

Yeah - in a nutshell:  money to be free to live as I want to live.

But that is not all of it.  I am involved in animal rescue & sheltering and my pension is not adequate to their needs.  I want to supplement my income to do what drives me ANd to support others with a similar heart.

As an unexpected and very pleasant finding I am loving the involvement, the networking with creative and energetic people who want to create a better world for themselves, their loves one and all they connect with.  That is awesome!

Enough!  I need to do my homework for my mastermind mind group meeting toorrow.

Stay well everyone.

Looking forward to everyone's comments.

Sincerely,

Rachel Cormier

My Why, What etc...

Hi Mark,

Clinical Pysch eh? <smile> It must serve you well in this industry.

Why, Why, Why, Porque...

Oh boy its a long, long...why. But I'll give you the spartan version as opposed to the athenian version.

I "MUST" "EARN" my living online to provide me the freedom to live anywhere in the world I want or need to so long as I have internet access. I fell in love with a russian KGB agent, had at baby unplanned at least on my part...she nearly killed me; I divorced her, lost custody of my 9yo daugther, live with the fear that my ex will take my only child out of the country at any time.

I have given considerable thought to my options as it relates to my desperate need for financial freedom and came to the conclusion in my present situation that network marketing and internet marketing are my best and perhaps only options. I am ship-wrecked, bridge broken at the proverbial point of no return.

Resolve doesn't begin to describe how I feel...intrepid RESOLVE!

I do realize that I must move forward out of desire/love than fear. I am presently working diligently to reframe my state of mind.

How do you "dig" deeper into the heart of a prospect without spilling some blood aka pain?

By the way great copy on your surefiresponsoring.com site...sold me!

Coooool.... I love the

Coooool.... I love the psyche stuff!

I got into network marketing after bouncing from job to job growing up. (self employed, still not grown up, but that's another story) Anywhoo...

It dawned on me one day that I am certifiably unemployable. Practically every job that I have ever had, I eventually lost because a) I simply couldn't stand the monotany, b) I couldn't stand my boss, c) I couldn't stand not being the boss, and d) see c). That was it!

One day I got the opportunity to strike out on my own as a freelance web designer and man did I get bit bad by the "work for myself" bug. After that, the entrepreneur in me just wouldn't shut the hell up and go back to bed.... I was hooked!

Naturally, I found MLM, or did MLM find me? Hmm....   (sits back, lights cigar)

Why Do I Do Network Marketing?

Well, since you ask I have lots of reasons. Mainly I got the passion for networking and being self employed about 12 years ago, but had the typical bad experience of being told to sell to my warm list, etc. so, despite having a very strong desire to help people with good nutrition and a better lifestyle I wasn't successful so I went on to other things for the past 8 years. Recently I lost some family members and I am currently caring for my elderly ill mother. My husband is 13 years older than me and not in good health so needing to be at home I decided I had to find something to generate an income from home and to create a retirement plan. I fortunately have found some wonderful mentors online and am taking about 4 courses hoping to find the right niche that I can make an income, have financial freedom, and the money to pay for better healthcare.

It's all about the WHY

My mentor is fond of saying in presentations 'Let's be frank.  Money is probably what got you down here tonight...but that isn't what will make you stay.'

I believe that's a true statement.  It's curious, isn't it, that the money won't typically come unless and until we grow into the type of person for whom it isn't about the money?

I was first attracted to MLM because it looked like an easy way to earn a lot of money.  24 years later, I know it isn't actually easy.  However it is simple, if you follow a leader.  Not necessarily your upline or mentor.  The key is finding a leader who will tell you the truth: that you must grow, change your mindset, and make it about other people, not about money.

I'm not (strictly speaking) in MLM now, though some would argue differently.  The semantics don't matter--the business model is direct sales and leveraged income.  I haven't personally made a ton of money--yet.  However, I love what I do passionately because it gives me the opportunity to grow and learn every day, and to share with others of like mind.

Why do I stay?  Because I believe that I still have the ability to create a legacy of wealth and entrepreneurial spirit for my children and grandchildren.  And because of that freedom that you mention, Mark.  For me, it's the freedom of choice.

Why look at MLM

First off let me say I got in totally for the money...maybe why I did'nt do very well. Now I'm starting to grow and learn and really like the products. Besides that, there is the social aspects of MLM. I'v made alot of new friends and only in MLM can you also help your friends become wealthy. Its a great retirement addition , you can live were you want and have more flexibility to do what you want. You create your own paycheck and your multiplying your time instead of expending it. No wonder corprations like MLM. Whats there not to like for anyone?

Why do I do Network Marketing?

My main purpose here is to get the Freedom of not having to worry about a JOB after graduation from College. I want to be able to spend time traveling and seeing the world, to experience things that you can only experience when you work for yourself. I want the ability to spend a month traveling through the Caribbean hopping Island to Island and just touching base when I want to check up with my teammates/the leaders on my team and see if they need any help.

I want to be able to influence people's lives for the better by helping them achieve their goals and push them to new heights that they never thought possible. To help people fire their boss and spend more time with their children.

The ability to constantly be "learning while earning" is unbelievable. We usually go through life PAYING before we can get paid. An example is college right now. I have to pay ridiculous sums of money to a school that really isn't preparing me for the "real world" but basing more of an education of memorization and not application.

My main desires are to be different and to live a life that people can only dream of, to do this as well as have the ability to influence 1,000,000 Entrepreneurs lives and to give back some of what I earn so that the less fortunate can have the chance to achieve their dreams as well.

The DESIRE is becoming overwhelming and I can taste the success. We can all have what we want with Network Marketing.

I think we are all looking for the same thing

Freedom.  Freedom to work when and where we want.  Freedom from "bosses".  Freedom from financial worries.  Freedom to be with the ones we love.  Freedom to do, be and have.

And money is what makes all that happen.  Owning your own business means pushing outside your comfort zone, long hours, dediction, commitment, a business plan and wise investing.  In network marketing we don't need a banker to hold us accountable but we should treat our business as if we do.

Great question and answers.

To your success,
