A small business owner has a lot of responsibility and heavy obligations to his community, family, and employees. Yet, the small business owner usually has little capital to retain a Business Consultant, which he sorely needs. The following is free advice for the small business owner and Network Marketer.
Because I am not a high-priced lawyer, an expensive advisor on the payroll of a large corporation and I am not here to impress anyone, you may find this advice helpful as there are no strings attached. You can take this advice for what it's worth.
The message is simple: YOU NEED A BUSINESS CONSULTANT FOR YOUR NETWORK MARKETING BUSINESS, even though you have an upline mentor who may be very competent. You still need someone who is not part of the system to give unbiased advice and who you can unload your concerns with without risking the upline relationship that is vital to the success of your business. You need a specific type of consultant as well.
Of course, the right type of consultant has to be one that knows how to succeed and does exactly what he or she teaches you to do. The consultant you choose needs to coach you on principles that meet your standards and ethical mindset. Therefore, the consultant needs to understand your frame of mind: meaning your vision, dreams, goals, aspirations, and commitment level. This advice needs to be sound and applies to your specific needs and abilities.
The typical Network Marketer is trained to seek wealth and expensive things. I disagree with this type of training and I'll tell you why. Have you noticed that people who chase after the money never seem to get it? It seems to elude them no matter how hard they try. This is why you need to build your business on solid principles and sound standards that allow you to succeed without compromising values and character, and not focus on wealth and collecting treasures that can be washed away in a storm.
I have nothing against gaining wealth and collecting earthly treasure, I'm just saying that type of goal should be secondary. The first goal should be servicing others and using your wealth to take care of those who are less fortunate. Gathering wealth to lavish on ourselves when others are without is just plain sickening.
Entrepreneurs like you and I know the rules for being successful in life, we’ve tested them and even broken a few of them! We have a drive inside us to obtain more out of life than the mundane and mediocre. That's why you need a coach who has been down the same road as you are experiencing right now, and has taken the same shortcuts you may have taken or thought of taking, but has also found the right road . . . the road to a successful life.
What is the right road to a successful life? It is not how much money you have in the bank or on paper, or the expensive jewelry you own, the high-priced homes and cars or vacation homes and recreation vehicles you think you have to have. The right road to a successful life is how you live and interact with people and your business dealing. It is the happiness you feel inside your soul that determines a successful life. Unfortunately, aspiring entrepreneurs often miss this important element when reaching for their dreams and economic independence. This is exactly why you need the expert help of a well-rounded coach who understands this principle.
Let me tell you, I’ve been around long enough to see people lose their businesses and everything they had hoped to attain! I have seen why people quit aspiring to a higher level and then settle for what they have in hand. They quit because they no longer dream and set goals, and they give up on working for what they want. Their reasons are discussed at length in another article about why people stay parked at a particular level. The important thing is that your coach needs to understand the mind of an entrepreneur, the mind of network marketers, and the mind of upline sponsors and their motives (which are not always focused on your best interests).
The bottom line is that you need a coach who can guide you away from the many pitfalls that new business owners fall into, and some that even seasoned owners slip into as well when they cannot see or they do not know what they need to do next.
The truth is that, in the world of business, it is easy to become overwhelmed by worry and negativity. The ugliness of reality is all around us, if we allow it to permeate our lives instead of filtering it through lenses of hope and vision. In that environment, it can be difficult to see what we need to do next. This is especially true when emotions and passion become part of the equation. This is where a good consultant can be of benefit to you in this situation.
Now do not misunderstand what I just said, because I DO NOT mean you should sugar-coat reality! What you need to do is compare it to turning the penny over and look at the other side of a situation. You can do the same thing with the negatives you must deal with in your life; personally or in your business.
Having a personal coach, who understands what you want to accomplish with your businesses, is a commodity many Network Marketing business owners haven't thought of before. They need someone who has an understanding of their vision, has a working knowledge of success principles, and is bold enough to hold their entrepreneur feet to the fire. This is what a good business coach does! How many people do you know who can help you in this way?
Entrepreneurs are great visionists, and they dream of things most people would not dare to dream. However, these same strengths can be a detriment when they live too high in the clouds. They need someone who can entice them out of the clouds and get their feet back on the ground and working.
If you see the benefits of having a personal coach working with you, one who espouses these principles I’ve been discussing, then perhaps you will ask me to work with you. I would enjoy that, and offer my services for free the first five sessions. If we need more time, then we will work out payments that work for both of us. If it isn't me you wish to work with, please search the Internet and find someone you feel is more to your liking. That would make me happy as well. If you do find someone else, I would love to hear from you and tell me how you are doing.

Business Coach
I couldn't agree with you more. I've been in promotional product sales for 17+ years and have a business coaching system & a personal coach. And while one helps me develop or improve systems for growing business, the personal coach keeps me on target and goal focused.
I marvel at how a one hour coaching sessions or conference call recording can help me rethink what my priorities are weekly. "Oh, yeah. My goal is to hire people not to write more pencil orders."
And seeing it through there eyes is a process that will not only enlighten you but will hold you accountable. So some reject this at first, but usually we are our own worst enemy chasing the wrong daily activities. Is it someone elses goal or your own? Here's part of an email I sent to a team member last week who was thinking about getting a coach:
Yeah my personal coach comes into my office the first time and asks about my map on the wall with all the salespeople pinned into their city. I tell her all about it- I'm so proud. My goal of building a strong team of like minded dealers with the same goal & customer care.
Then she makes me explain how my normal day goes. I explain- I'm so proud, all my systems, all my efficiency -writing orders all day.
Then she asks about how much money would I make if I was to reach my goal of two people in every state? I really hadn't taken the time to add that up. So the astonishing fact was if I had good people like you- two in every state- $250 per person in over rides, that's $25,000 a MONTH!
Then she asked me why am I writing pencil orders? -Brick between the eyebrows!
Kind of funny how a coach looks at things and discovers what you don't see. Needless to say the focus is not on writing orders- but hiring, training & procedures.
