Your Company Sucks... You Should Join Mine!

Let's face it... just about every MLM out there has a mentoring system, or some kind of system that offers promotional tools, attached to it. In fact, some MLM companies make a good portion of their money off of these tools.

Lately, the mentoring system I have chosen to endorse, Mentoring For Free, has come under scrutiny by a few people in this community because of its attachment to a particular MLM company (which has a very good reputation, btw). They accuse us of using the MFF mentoring system as a way to "sucker" people into our business. They "warn" others about how we will attempt to discredit the company they are currently with in an attempt to get them to join ours.

Well let's look at this for a moment...

I've been with MFF for about three months now and while I did join the MLM company that is endorsed by many of the people using the MFF system, I was never asked, coerced or bullied into joining the company. I joined after taking what I learned from the system on how to find a good MLM and putting it to use!

I joined when I realized it would take me months to find a good MLM that wasn't going to rip me off... I mean logically... why would anyone spend months searching for a good company when they know that their mentor is already in one? Doesn't take a genious really... but don't think for a moment that I didn't put this company to the same test MFF prescribes for all MLM's (and it passed with flying colors I might add).

Is the MLM I'm with currently the only one out there that fits this bill? No...

Do we try to convince people that it is the only one? Hell no!

We teach people how to do the research for themselves so that they can make an informed decision. No scare tactics needed here... the truth serves us well enough.

Does everyone we mentor in MFF join this particular company? No...

Do we try to convice them to? Hell no!

I joined this particular MLM because it suited my needs and had a comp plan that is easy for me to understand. Plus I love my upline like family. I know that it's not for everyone... everyone has talents and desires in different areas.

We offer people the tools to evaluate their current company (if they have one). If their company passes the test then great... if not then they have a decision to make! But honestly... if you found out your company's owners were unethical in their practices, wouldn't you think twice about continuing to do business with them?

Again... it's not scare tactics or bullying! We provide people with the knowledge to make an informed decision... a decision that may have cost them thousands of dollars or a lifetime of work in some cases. I was saved from joining a company where the owner is a scam artist (and a very clever one at that), where they have a comp plan that is designed for the average person to fail unless you're a good strategist, and a policy that leaves it wide open for them the pull the rug from under your feet if it suits them to do so.

MFF offers people the knowledge they need to be successful in whatever business they choose to promote... no more, no less.

Never since I have been a part of MFF have I heard any of my mentors try and discredit another company. They were always honest about their feelings if I asked about a particular company, but their last word was always "DO THE RESEARCH... Find out for yourself!"

So that's what I say to you! If someone approaches you with the sole purpose of discrediting another person or company, stop and consider their true intent. Are they saying these things for your benefit or theirs? And do your research... type the name of the people and companies with the word scam and see what comes up... and don't stop at the first page. Some people/companies are good with SEO and can hide their skeletons, so go at least 10 pages deep.

If you find a few negative comments, but pretty much everything else is clear... well you can probably assume that this person/company is okay, but if you see a lot more negative comments than positive ones? You may want to think twice about doing business with and/or trusting the word of this person or company.

Download the free ebook, Success in 10 Steps, for more information on how to do this kind of research and what to look for! And feel free to contact me... I will help you in any way I can. No strings attached!

Great Article!

Great job Renee!

So you researched your options and then made a choice.  What a concept.  And MFF didn't make you join their opportunity.  They taught you how to think not what to think.  Cool.  Thank you for sharing.

Great One!

Renee i say a big thank you for this post... you have cleared the airwave for some who would have a wrong misconception about the values and training been carried in MFF by it organizers and personel involved. This is another masterpiece. It surely will help a lot in decision making and as a caution to all that have hade some misguide gridges on MFF

Oh crap! Now I'm curious.

Oh crap! Now I'm curious. What company ARE you with? (just askin')

P.S. Good title.

Interesting article

Very interesting article and a good point. In my opinion, it would be nice everyone chose logically and researched before making a decision, however that's not our society. We are people who get mad if the coupon we have for our 500 cereal boxes is outdated in Wal-Mart and we demand we see a supervisor or we would blaspheme it to the ground on the "internet".

Research is vital, but overlooked, even today when information is at our fingertips 24/7.

I can relate!

Renee, I can relate to what you are saying, I was in five differen't companies in ten years all of them telling me the same thing, friends, family, three foot rule, numbers game, what a bunch of crap! If it wasn't for MFF I would of wasted more time and money doing the same thing, with the same result.  Let those people bash MFF all they want, some people just can't handle the truth!

P.S. Great Job

Couldn't have said it better myself Renee

You've got a way with words and more than that, you are an awesome leader and a critical thinker.

Thank you for your insights and positivity.

Good point Ted

That's exactly why we teach people to do their own research in MFF. If people aren't even willing to put in the time to do a little research, are they someone you really want on your team anyway? It's good for them and ultimately it's good for the team to learn these skills.

Same here, Tony!

I was in one company offline about 10 years ago and it was the same deal. And my upline acted as though it was a special privilege to be even seen with them. I've got people in my upline in my current business that wouldn't think twice about spending time with me and taking me out for a nice lunch/dinner. I think I'll stick with the people who treat me like a fellow human being instead of like an object that might mean some cash to them.

That was my Question all along

In response to Roy,
I was inticed by a very nice lady, who said all she wanted to do was "mentor" me... I KNEW there was more to it than that, but she continually said, no there isnt. After listening to all the taped stuff they want you to listen to, (which didnt really tell me anything I didnt know) I decided it just wasnt for me. I never did find out what program it was. I'm sure it is a good program, but I think MFF should be a bit more up-front about what they're doing, and not waste people's time with all the stuff you have to go through to get to what the program is. I am still also curious, and interested in what the progam is, but I dont want to go through all the hoops to find out. I personally like to know up front what I'm getting into. I have a problem with the deceit aspect of "we only want to mentor you" when in fact there is an ulterior motive.

You are a wise woman Laura

In all the months I was there I never heard of another "5 pillars" company in existence.  They have a whole yahoo group (dlouhyvita) devoted to all the bad companies and their P&Ps and comp plans.  So although some of the training is good the ultimate goal is to teach you this policy is bad and that policy is bad and then look - we only have 3 pages of policies and procedures and there's nothing bad in there.    The 5 pillars are made up and it is something that Dlouhy takes from company to company.  From what I've been told by some his last company was a 5 pillars company too and it was a binary !!  Go figure.

I've fully supportive of MFF as long as everyone is upfront about what they do and why they are doing it.  But that's not the case. We were actually taught to never tell anyone what we do unless they ask.  What a way to run a business !!

Laurie Some People Do not Get it!

Laurie it is a Lead system You can use it the way you want. There is nothing up our Sleeve we help people for free in any company.  You do not need a special Password to join.  If you are in a Company we will not telll you ours no need.  We do not want tire kickers so we weed those out with the book.  If they do not have time to read a book they do not have time for this Business.   So it is a Great sifting tool.  That simple we offer something of Value for Free make a 100 connects and some join and some do not.  That simple.  But we do not care we will teach you more things then just 5 pillars.  Just get the Book Leaders are Readers I am looking for Leaders and People who make the time.  to Educate Themselves.  And they do not get riped off doing it

It's about Mentoring & Helping People, not Recruiting...

Laura,

MFF is about helping others become successful regardless of what company they are in.  People that use the MFF system for training and educating their teams come from different companies.  For example I have used the system with two different companies, it is a system that works, it is duplicatable.

Mentoring for Free is not for people that are the recruiters, the ones that will slam companies and people associated with them to better themselves.  These people that jump from company to company and think they are smarter than the rest never build a team of people because they cannot be duplicated.  Nobody wants to be pushy and aggressive, it does not work.

Let me share a perfect example of what I mean; last summer I was on a airplane flight and there was a mother of 3 small children who had her hands full getting them settled down.  During the flight she appoligized for her children being noisy, and from there we struck up a conversation.  Naturally during the conversation the questions came up "what do you do?"  I told her that I was a professional network marketer and she wanted to know more.  I told that I would give her some information when we got off of the flight, as it was in the overhead bin.

There was a person sitting behind me on the flight that was in my company, and when the plane landed they jumped up and handed the women there contact information and said "if want to money from home you need to call me."  I was shocked that anyone would do that, especially someone from the same company.

I caught up to the women at the baggage claim and talked to her for a few minutes.  What she said is exactly what most people think about networkers, pushy and aggressive, and she said thanks but I really don't need your information, this is not for me.

This is why Mentoring for Free only works for  people that have a servants heart.  We just find those people that the recruiter's leave behind after they have pocketed the money and help those people get back on track.

There are so many of the people out there that have been scammed, lied to, and never been mentored properly, we stay real busy helping them out.  The real cool thing is that we don't have to try to steal anyone's downline.   Besides trying to steal other peoples downlines and slamming people is the kiss of death in this industry, it is MLM suicide.

Thanks, Doug...

That really sums of MFF perfectly. What's the point of mentioning your company if the person you are mentoring isn't looking for a new company, anyway. That's when you scare people away... when you start pushing your company to people.

I got the Success in 10 Steps ebook and became involved in MFF because I hate recruiting and selling... I'm horrible at it and honestly... I think it's wrong to push things on people like that. But I do love helping people... that makes me feel good.

If someone joins me in my business, great... if not, then I will be just as happy to help them succeed in whatever company they choose to be with.

In fact, I'm also very much into affiliate/niche marketing. I love that side of the internet marketing industry and I'm just involved in that as I am Network Marketing. I really have no desire to do one or the other full time... and I love that the stuff in MFF has helped me not only in MLM, but with the other areas too.

So people can continue to believe that we've got some kind of ulterior motive if they want to, but then you have to say the same about people like Mike Dillard too... he doesn't tell people what business he's with... and there are other mentoring systems that do the same. I have a hard time understanding why it's okay for them to do it that way, but those of us in MFF are scamming people by doing it that way.

Thanks for this Post

Thank you Renee for taking the time to write about this subject. I stumbled across MFF last December and downloaded the Success in Ten Steps book. I visited the website, got on the free calls, downloaded more ebooks and mp3 information and was just amazed at what I learned. I especially liked that I was learning without having to shell out money for it. The attraction for me was the idea that I might be able to build a business WITHOUT having to pitch my MLM all the time to people who were not interested. Recruiting always left me feeling "ichy" and unworthy and I certainly don't like that feeling. What I DO like to do is to help people with technology and finding systems and processes for getting things done. And, I want to have FUN doing my business.

Finally, here was confirmation that I could have it all. I used MFF and put peices of it into practice for almost four months before I realized that I really needed to do more than sit on the sidelines and listen in. I joined MFF AND the MLM promoted by my Mentor because it suddenly seemed the right thing to do For ME. The decision and action is pretty new (this month), but I already feel the stress of recruiting is gone. Instead I'm concentrating on learning how to mentor and coach without any expectations of return. The "mental cleanse" is very helpful (gotta do it again though as 30 days is a long time to keep on track--for me anyway). I'm working on clearing away the negativity in my life so I can enjoy all the abundance this life has to offer.

I don't feel (and never did feel) like I was prompted, bullied, or strong-armed into making the decision to join.
