Success = Helping Others

How often do we hear that phrase or something similar?

Zig Ziglar is maybe the most well known advocate of being successful through helping others with his quote:

“If you can dream it, then you can achieve it. You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.“

and I love Tony Robbins quote:

“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.”

These are people who have learned how important it is to give back and that the main secret to being hugely successful is in adding value to others lives. People will remember you so much more for the way that you made them feel, than they ever will for the things that you achieved individually..  

Tony Robbins also said:

“The meeting of preparation with opportunity generates the offspring we call luck.” 

This is one of my favourite quotes ever. It explains to me why many people look at me and think that I am lucky or fortunate when I have had to work so hard for every achievement that I have made.. A lot of the time I feel fortunate because I know that I am more blessed than some of my friends even, in that I have my health, a wonderful husband (don’t tell him I said so lol) and a loving family. Yet when I saw that Tony Robbins quote, it explained to me why I feel fortunate and others see me as being so - I have always been open to opportunity and flexible and prepared enough to take advantage of it when it arises..

One of the values that my family taught me growing up was also directly linked to helping others, they gave me the advantage of being able to take something positive from every day, no matter how grim it seemed at the time, they taught me to look for the silver lining in any dark cloud and there are only a few which defeat me that way, then I am able to fall back on my faith and know that tomorrow is another day and there will be new opportunities and new experiences to learn from.

Attraction marketing is another manifestation of becoming successful by adding value to others lives or businesses. Being there to provide training, insights and emotional / motivational support for people who are working to build their business is a great way to brand yourself as someone who people want to be around and follow..

There is also a new flux of online businesses out there at the moment that are built around the principles of altruism, in terms of helping others via the business opportunity admins donating a percentage of the business income to charitable organisations even as you are building an online income with that business yourself.

The one that I chose to join is called We Are Helping Others and it is a really neat little business opportunity that you can grow for as little as $10 per month. Even from that $10 per month, 20% or $2 each month being donated to the charity of the month, as nominated and chosen by members. So as this business grows we are going to be able to donate thousands of dollars per month to the nominated charities, each and every month, even while we are still able to earn a very decent online income for ourselves. These admins know that in these dificult times especially, it is neccessary to help ourselves at the same time as helping others and they have established a great way of achieving this (least I think so ).

So while you are thinking about how to position yourself as a leader in your field and how to attract others to follow you because you realise that success in life really does mean helping others, I hope that you will take a fresh look at this method of helping others and maybe even decide to use it as an alternative spring board for your own attraction marketing endeavours..
