Adding Value
In these days of competing attraction marketers, (that’s what happens when something catches the buzz right
), it’s more important than ever to consider how you are adding value to your business and the people you are bringing in to work with you.
I was watching a video on one of my favourite business networks just now and it struck me that we really, really need to learn how to think outside of the box in order to continue providing value, building our reputation and thereby building our business these days.
You can check out the video I saw here - you might need to double click the play button to get it to work but it’s an interesting take on systems and why they work..
I’ve been around the internet marketing world for a couple of years now and I always take interest in the latest info, I just love learning new things, and I am still benefitting from the info that I find in networks I frequent.
Adding value is about sharing knowledge, skills and experience with others, at no cost to them. That’s why in order to be truly successful you need to forget about overnight riches and focus on controlling the small stuff, setting realistic goals for yourself and those you mentor, appreciate the small steps that you are taking that are helping you reach the place you are headed. It’s like the old saying, “take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves”, if you take care of the small steps, before you realise you’re going to be making great headway on that journey towards your overall goal.
Savour that journey and share enough of yourself for people to want to know more, the emotional impact you generate in others far out weighs any other response. They are far more likely to remember you and value you if you make them feel in some way (you want to make people feel good so that they remember you favourably!).
Even while you are learning the ropes yourself, you can add value to others by making them feel good about what they are achieving, helping them to recognise the small steps they are taking towards their goals each day and helping them to learn focus, even as you are both learning strategy and technique.
Never under estimate the power of emotion. That’s where value is recognised, just think of your own experience. Who do you value and why?
I’m betting that the answer to that question will give you a warm glow of emotional reaction when you consider it. That’s what you want people to experience when they think of you and it’s not about being nice to them all the time, it’s about being open, fair minded, honest and giving..
