If you've read my bio, you know I'm a Soldier ... a real-life Soldier. I take that seriously.

And in my experience ... I might be just bit biased here ... but in my experience, Soldiers are about the most authentic people you'll find in any industry.

Think about it ... would you GIVE YOUR LIFE to protect the values of what you're currently doing?

"But, what does this have to do with business and marketing and stuff, Rick?"

Living with authenticity - being true to yourself, NOT trying to fulfill someobody else's image of you, living a life of selflessness, with respect and empathy for others - this is at the root of success.

Soldiers - and I use the term generically here to fit all armed services - don't join the military to get rich. Trust me, I know ... many join for different reasons, but getting rich is definitely not one of them. Soldiers answer a higher call, to a sense of duty and honor and unselfishness.

I'll say it again ... AUTHENTICITY is at the root of all success, no matter what you do ... not fleeting success, but long lasting success ... the kind people like you and I strive for.
