Alternative Health - Back to Basics
Traditional Chinese Medicine promotes balance of the body, mind and the spirit. The first recorded history dates back about 2,000 years, but it is believed that the origins date back as far as 5,000 years.
Shen Nong, the legendary emperor and who many consider to be the father of Chinese herbal medicine, tested and analyzed over a hundred herbs, including 70 toxic substances a day. As a result of his efforts, numerous herbs have been used for health care even today.
Shen Nong's Pharmaecopiea documented Ganoderma Lucidum as the #1 Superior Herb over all other herbs. So rare was this "tiny red mushroom", found only on 2 of every 10,000 dead plum trees, that it was reserved only for the weathy and ruling classes. Commoners were put to death if found in posession of it.
Thankfully, today modern scientists and researchers have managed to produce this Miraculous King of Herbs/Herb of Longevity/Elixer of Immortality, in controlled environments, making it available to the masses.
The therapuetic claims of this powerful botanical?
As an adaptogen, provides 100's of antioxidant/ antiaging properties, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, beneficial for circulatory and respiratory, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholestral, waste elimination, kidney and liver tonic, insomnia and this list goes on. Only today is modern science now taking a focused interest in its properties with regards to cancer and chemotherapy.
So, perhaps it's time to get back to basics, back to nature and rethink what ancient herbal medicine has known for thousands of years.
