How to Monetize your Emails

Hey Readers!

So today I am going to cover what is called "monetization". I have been marketing online for almost 10 years now, and I have only recently realized that all these years in MLM I was missing out on a lot of potential income by not monetizing my emails that were going out to my lists...I mean I would have made THOUSANDS!

We get so focused on getting our leads into our business opportunity or on our products that we don't think about passively marketing to them, which is exactly why I say that so many systems out there that claim to be "marketing" systems are actually not at all...

Now the other day I covered "Who owns your List" where I talked about the importance of owning your own email list and it is SO true. If you don't own your list then you are helping someone else build theirs and that is not good. Owning your own list gives you the ability to monetize it...

So what do I mean by that? Well what I do in my marketing emails (auto responders) is I add links to several of the affiliate sites that I am involved with at the bottom of them. This passively promotes affiliate products that make me a commission.

Now, I know that you may be thinking that this would never work because of what I have said to you in the past about blasting links all over and trying to drive people to your website, but this is different. These are people that opted into a REAL marketing system and they know in advance that I am a marketer and I only ever promote products that are going to help them anyway...so I do not feel bad doing it...and it works!

Now I don't make a ton of money using this method, but last week alone with one affiliate program I had well over $350 worth of sales, but here is the point. Had I not had those links in the emails you know what those leads that I worked so hard to produce would have made me? That's right a big fat $0!

So you need to look at your so called marketing system and think about monetizing it. The money that you make from these affiliate sales could create an even bigger ad budget for you. And as your list grows, it can even become a nice supplement to your income.

You also want to make sure that when you are looking for a marketing system, look for one that actually teaches you HOW to market and knows the power of monetization. You see, these are products that people usually end up buying anyway, so why not make a little extra $$? It is not wrong to make money if you are offering people something of real value...

Now I would not suggest that you all of a sudden turn all your emails into a Las Vegas strip with tons of ads. As a general rule I may place a link in the actual copy of the email that I am sending out because it pertains to the information I am putting out, or I place a little ad at the bottom of the email away from all the other information that may look like this:    

I always separate the ad from the main email like this:

That is an actual ad that I put in the bottom of my emails that goes out in one of my auto responder series.

This is how you monetize your emails for maximum results with your leads. Like I said, you can make $0 on them, or you can potentially make money.

Now I do not generally monetize my personal lists like the one that most of you are on, but I do sometimes come across a product or service that I personally buy and enjoy and WILL promote that because it is something that I learned from and it helped me either in business or in personal growth.

So evaluate the marketing system you are using this week. Ask yourself if it is set up to make you money EVEN on the leads that don't sign up for your business or opportunity, and if it's not...you need to look at finding one that is...
