Getting Started: 3 Key Elements to Success

There are a variety of ways to build a successful network marketing business both online and offline. I'm a believer in finding several methods that fit your personal style and moving forward with those things. The key to success is to DO THE WORK!

The sad thing I often see is distributors who say they want a successful business but they do nothing beyond signing up. There are a few key elements to success:

1. Decide - I feel this is the first, most important step. You need to make a decision to be successful and be willing to do the work. Know WHY you are building this business. Do you want extra money to supplement income? Do you want a new car? For me, I wanted freedom. Freedom from a 40 hour a week job, freedom to do whatever I want whenever I want. You know your reasons but whatever they are, you need to spend some time focusing on those reasons and what you are willing to do to accomplish your goal.

2. Learn - There is always a learning curve. You need to know the company and basic business building skills. Get plugged in to your upline's resources and any network marketing mentors that teach reasonable advice. Subscribe to their newsletters. This always seems a silly thing to even have to remind people of. I mean, everyone know that with any business or even a job at Walmart, you have to learn some things. At Walmart there is a daily method of operation. It may not be rocket science but there things you need to know. If you don't learn those things, you may end up fired. In your business, whatever business it is, you need to learn the ropes.

The successful network marketer is always learning. I have been in this industry for over 14 years and I am still subscribed to many success and mlm trainer newsletters. Keep on learning.

3. ACTIVITY - Take the things you have learned and apply them. Figure out what is going to be your DAILY METHOD of OPERATION and DO THE WORK! You will NOT be successful in this business if you don't do all three of those things. Your daily method of operation will vary depending on whatever prospecting techniques you choose. The key to success is to be actively promoting your business. If you are wanting a serious income with network marketing, you need to get your information in front of a large amount of people.
