Relaxation Exercise -

This Exercise

Helps Me  To  Release 

Beliefs and Mind Set

The exercise is a  relaxation. The first time it does take a little longer.

1)    Take a deep breathe and as you breath out visualize and mentally say the number 3 three times. Then slowly relax your body from head to toe.

 

2)    Relax the head, the face, the neck, in this exercise I would focus on the head and feel a tingling sensation and then warmth as it relaxed, as I moved to the forehead, I would do the same the neck and as I moved down the body I did start to feel the sensations. Internal organs I would just say relax my internal organs.  When you are relaxing name the body parts for eg back, shoulders, arms, hips, internal organs, thights, calves, feet toes. Another way as you focus on each part tense the muscles and relax, some find this easier.

 

3)    The next step was breathe in deeply again and visualize and say the number 2 three times.  This time you are mentally relaxing the mind, so focus or think of some passive scene that you love. It could be a day at the beach, or day fishing, walking in the forest, sitting under a tree by a river, or quietly watching the sun set.

 

4)    Then take another deep breath and visualize and mentally say the number 1 three times. Once you are at this stage you are in relax state to go deeper, count slowly down  from 10 to 1.

 

Once at this stage say - Every day in every way I am getting better and better in every way, and see yourself getting better in all areas of your life. 

Another good saying is I am progressing with improving my thoughts every day, I Can,  I can think, I can create, I can do.

 

 

Once you have done the long relaxation of this exercise  and programme your mind on the 3 to 1 count.

Then you can actually get into a fairly relaxed state quite quickly by breathing deeply and slowly counting 3 and visualizing and repeating number 3 three times.

Then visualizing and mentally saying the number 2 three times, and then the same for 1 visualizing and mentally saying number 1 three times. Then say relax my neck, eyes, lips, and any part that still may feel a little tense, then  feel a wave of relaxation flow through you.  This can take a few minutes or as long as you want.  

To go deeper. count from 10 to 1. Still count down  to 10 down to 1 even  if all you want to do is relax and revitalize yourself. Once you have reached 1, take a deep breath and relax even deeper and  count 1,2,3 and project yourself to your favourite passive scene. For eg sitting watching the sun go down. Or day fishing, or a day at  the beach.

 Then relax in the peaceful scene until you are ready to come out. Count 1 to 5 on 3 say on the count of 5 eyes open and and wide awake and refreshed and feel better than before. Then on 5 say eyes open feeling wide away, refreshed and better than before.

 If you have a goal that you want to achieve this is where you can start visualizing and imagining it and  feeling the emotion, and see yourself already having achieved it. Remember with goals or anything you desire, you must take action steps towards them as well.

If you have a problem  your are wanting to solve, or you have decision to make.  Imagine that you are in an elevator and you are going down to the basement starting from the 10th floor, you watch as the floors go by, 9, 8, 7.etc  Once you reach the basement the doors will open into a room and you will be met by your two counsellors.

They will be a man and woman greet them. In this room you will have a computer, a desk a chair, arm chair and you can put anything else you wish. This is your sanctuary,  so you decorate it the way you want it. Leave one wall free so you can use this like a movie screen.

 You can be thinking of your problem as you go down the elevator or when you reach your sanctuary and greet your counsellors you can put the problem to them. 

 Then be open to whatever comes to you. It may come in a thought, a picture, you may be prompted to go to the bookcase and pull a book out. Or go and sit at the computer, the computer will be the state of the ark and you may get your  answer from there.

It may be a feeling. Just be open.  The first few times I did this exercise I really didn’t get much. However I  did come out of it feeling extremely relaxed and refreshed. As I did the exercise more then I did get impressions, thoughts, images, in ways I don’t normally get. Just be open, it may feel like you are daydreaming, watch the day dream, you may find your answer is in there. Or your imagination may kick in, go with it.

 I found past negative events in my life surface. I would observe it, and  watch it play out. Then what ever the emotion or feeling I felt I would rerun that scene again and turn the negatives into a more positive and empowering situation and the way I wanted it to go.

  For eg. I remember a person saying something very negative to me when I was quite young.    I had forgotten  this situation had happened. I don’t remember the exact words, I do remember the feeling I had though when this memory surfaced, the negative feeling and  the disempowerment..

  I went back into that scene and saw it through adult eyes. Through looking at it  with adult eyes I could see the person had not really understood what she was saying. She may have overheard something and because she was young she repeated it. Once I went through that scene and saw myself as an equal I found I had different feeling about myself. I also felt more empowered with my current life.

  

By making time in the morning and evening to relax, revitalize myself I set my day on a more positive note.  I take time to review  my goals.  I have found I am  more aware of opportunities,   positive aspects have appeared into my life to help me move forward. They have appeared  in the most unexpected ways.  I am a lot happier and contented in myself and people have noticed.  

I know this may not help everyone, however doing this relaxation if nothing else helps your body to rest and rejuvenate itself.   I do believe that mind set and our beliefs hold us back, and make  us prisoner  of our thoughts, that we don’t even realize has happened.  Knowing how to open the door which is not locked helps move us forward along the path to our dream.
