Learning/Teaching/Leading
Just received this from a friend and wanted to share it here.
" It was a poem by Natasha Josephowitz.
My right hand is held
by someone who knows more
and I am learning
My left hand is held
by someone who knows less
and I am teaching
Both my hands must be held
for me to be"
I love this! It is yet another expression of one of my favorite teachings in Judaism, "Teaching others is too important a task to put off until you have finished learning. Learn today, teach today." Very similar to what my grandson is learning in his karate classes as well. He's a green belt and he helps the newer students with their basics, just as the higher ranked ones help him.
To me, this is the true power of community, whether it be a virtual one like BN or a physical one in your local area or any other configuration you could imagine. We are all learning and teaching all the time.
Blessings to you all,
