I was watching TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) this morning listening to Pastor Kenneth Hagin and he was talking about how to gain faith and keep the faith in Christ during times of struggle.  He was sharing ideas with Christians about how to increase and maintain our faith during difficult circumstances.

As I was taking notes, it occurred to me that these are the same principles in business.  There’s a real correlation between the principals of faith in Christianity and in business entrepreneurship.  I would like to share them with you.  Here are my notes from the message:

Christianity: If you want to increase your faith, read the Holy Bible.  That’s the feeder for faith.  Stay in God’s Word on a daily basis.  The Word teaches us how to grow up as a Christian.

Business: If you want to increase your faith in yourself as an entrepreneur, read personal development books.  Those are the feeders for faith.  Personal development teaches us how to grow up as an entrepreneur.

Christianity: If you want to continue to have LACK of faith, hang out with NON-believers in Jesus.  If you want to grow your faith, hang out with believers.  You share the same mindset and belief systems.

Business Comparison: If you want continue to have lack of faith in your business, hang out with non-believers, those who are negative and put down the idea of entrepreneurs.  If you want to grow your faith, hang out with believers, those who support your dreams, encourage you, believe in you, and share the same mindset.  You share the same mindset and belief systems.

Christianity: The right companions add to your faith.  They help you maintain your spirit of faith and even strengthen your faith.

Christianity: Christ did not die for you to have lack.  He came so that we can have life and have it more abundantly.  What we’re suppose to have is what is said in His Holy Scriptures.

When you start hanging around people who share a different belief system than you, it begins to zap you, drain your energy.  You’ve been hit with negative people, situations and ugliness all day and by the time you get home from work, you need a Word (Bible) shot.  Co-workers are going by the bar and to get an entirely different kind of shot.

Christianity: By staying in the Scriptures and seeing what God says about you, and what He’s got for you, this will help you understand how to deal with tests and trials.  This will help you have no lack in your faith.

Business Comparison: By staying in the personal development and growth books (The Bible can certainly be one – it’s the manual for living) this will help you understand how to deal with tests and trials.  This will help you have no lack in your faith as an entrepreneur.

I really enjoyed the message and it inspired to me to continue to stay in the Scriptures for my faith in Christ and in personal development for my faith in entrepreneurship.
