The Pain That Made Me Sane

I am sure many of you out there have experienced similar feelings to me when I say that the high pitched shrill of the alarm clock almost drove you to insanity each and every morning when you had to drag your weary body out of bed and off to work!  The dreaded just over broke (j.o.b)!  The job that paid a measly salary in the form of peanuts rather than hard cash that you could seriously use to pay off those escalating debts.  The debts that were rising out of a mere need to survive because you had no savings nest egg to reach into when those unexpected (and boy didn't those come at the worst time possible) large debts crept through the door.

I don't know if many of you have experienced your backs being up against the wall, with no way to turn.  Your once "sound" investments had turned sour and those credit cards came in handy when you need a quick bailout but now they were threatening to impale you with high interest rates, high minimum repayments and even higher balances! It would seriously take the rest of your life in prison before you would be able to repay these extortionate credit companies.
 
When your heart pounds in your throat not because of love but because of fear, when the anxiety levels reach a crescendo and cause you sleepless nights amidst moments of adrenalin rushes and then pure debilitation, you simply KNOW that SOMETHING has got to change. It’s all very well and fine, your assets look fabulous on paper, but in reality the negative equity means you’ll lose too much (and then some!).  If you try to sell in a now dampened UK property market you will end up having to pay off the remainder of your mortgage; your rentals don’t yield high enough returns and you’re committed to eating "credit crunch" cereal until it all recovers. But when will it recover?
 
You try your hand at a few business ventures on the side of that day job. But you’re let down again! The products are GREAT. You love the lotions, potions and magic juices, but the business isn’t making you any money! In fact you used your last few pathetic coins to purchase the products! So you spend more than you earn and you’re back to square one with your back firmly pressed up against the wall and everything else appears to be closing in on you…
 
Home business was my only solution. No commuting , no transport costs, no angry commuters, reducing my carbon footprint...hmmm, I’d tried just about everything else. I was done with juggling more than one job, my husband and I were passing ships in the night and our relationships with others started to show wear and tear as the exhaustion made us feel irritable, frustrated and hopeless. But where do you start? There are so many empty promises made by many marketers offering some get rich quick scam or scheme. I knew that I was good at using the Internet in some ways. I knew that brick and mortar or franchise business models were old school and came with too much capital outlay and even more overhead. I felt online business was the way to go.
 
I was deeply fortunate to stumble upon an online business plan that blew me away. I was sceptical to begin with because I’ve been burned in business before, more than once. It was so unique and unlike anything I’d ever come across before. I honestly didn’t have the money to invest at the level I’d like to have invested in from the start. So I started slowly, from the bottom and worked my way up. The thing is, I just didn’t have the money to begin with! Hubby and I were on the last dry cracker of the month. We couldn’t borrow or loan any money and day to day living was already tighter than those skinny jeans on a “fat” day. 
 
What did we do? We MADE it happen. 
 
HOW? We scrimped and we scraped and we squirmed, but we found the money.
 
WHY? We have a mindset that is motivated beyond motivation! We were so eager to get out of the tight spot we’d been cornered into we were willing to do whatever it took to breathe again and find freedom from the debt web.
 
WHEN? That was 7 months ago.
 
WHERE are we now? Well, we’re breathing. We’re well on course to repay our VAST debts, we’re in profit and earning some healthy five figure months. 
 
WHAT is the difference between us and Joe Blogs on the street? We simply won’t quit. We’re absolutely committed to making necessary changes. We are dedicated to achieving our goals. We are keen to throw away the alarm clock, to wake up when we’ve had enough sleep and to go to bed when we feel tired. We don’t waste other people’s time moaning and groaning about the obstacles or the problems we encounter in life. We simply get on with it and view these as challenges, focusing on the solutions every step of the way.
 
The liberated feelings you enjoy, the quality time you get to spend with your dearest and most beloved, the simple pleasures in life…these are priceless! I simply wouldn’t trade these cherished moments in for anything! How about you? What's your pain? Is what you do for a living driving you sane or insane? You do have a choice...
