5 Simple Ways to Stay On Course In 2010
With 2009 finally over and light of 2010 just starting off you may be off to the same start as most people right after the holiday season just about over you may find yourself in an all too familiar place (dirty little secret: me too) you need to lose the weight that you stacked on over the past couple of weeks. So you renew that gym membership that expired sometime last year and you find yourself back on that treadmill or hitting the weights, and in a month or so you stop going to the gym because of whatever reason you come up with, and next year comes around and the same cycle comes around.
Does this sound all too familiar? If it does, well you’re not alone and gyms all over the country know this and thrive off of this knowledge. How do you think they stay in business? So I have a few tips that I have used in the past to help me stay on course and motivated and I know that it can and will help you to get out of this vicious trap and get the best bang for your buck at the gym.
So (drum roll please) without further delay, here are some really easy tips on your trek to a healthy and prosperous 2010:
- Fail to plan, plan to fail. This truth works on so many different levels in life and surprisingly enough it also works in your training. So how can you apply it? Well it’s really simple. Plan your workouts, have a set time to go to exercise whether at a gym or not and stick to it make it a habit just to walk into the gym or outside with the purpose to exercise and you’ll see it will become second nature after a while,
- Set realistic goals. Remember this rule of thumb: a minimum of 1 lbs of fat per week (for weight loss) and a weight gain of (min) 1 lbs of lean muscle per month. Now with this formula set REALISTIC goals. Setting the minimum for your goal can give you a physiological boost to stay on your course,
- Stop coming up with excuses. If you can find time in possibly the busiest time of the year (small holiday’s, birthdays and such) you can find time throughout the year. And besides look at it like this “this is ME time” not for my spouse, boss, employees, kids, parents, siblings, dog, cat, hamster, or whoever. But this time is for ME,
- Make it like a second job. I know it’s contradictory to the last point but it works. You would not skip out of work just because you didn’t feel like not going to work would you? So try to take the same approach if, and only if, the above doesn’t work for you, and
- Have a reason to exercise. Without reason there is nothing. You are at work for a reason, you have a family for a reason, you have a car for a reason and these reasons are there for a specific solution for a futuristic purpose. Work gives you money so you can pay for things in the future, family gives you purpose for security that your line will continue when you are gone, and that someone will be there to love and care for you when you need it, and a car gives you security that you have transportation to and from places. So should exercise have a specific reason and purpose in your life? Fill in the blank I need exercise in my life because _____________(Reason and purpose).
So with that I hope you continue on course with all speed and purpose for a healthy and happy 2010.

The Link...
...Ok I should have put this into my blog post but the link between this fitness post and networking is...every single point I made can and should be used in your business practice word for word, with one exception, point #2. While it is very important to set realistic goals it is more important to go into the New Year with an abundance mentality (I, myself, am still working on it...getting better) and to have a strategy on how to get where you want to be (the ace up my sleeve is I wrote a business plan and I'm sticking to it)...OK now that I'm getting off topic I think it's time to end this...until next week...
WHAT IS YOUR GAME PLAN?
You need to have a game plan a plan of action. What is you goal everyday no matter how big or small it is you must plan your actions.
There are a lot of people who are busy but is it income producing activities or are you just active?
There are things that need to be done in our business but they do not make us money. Make sure you are spending your time in things that make you money.
