A Visit With The I Ching Tonight

I had a little discussion with the I Ching tonight...  More like me asking questions, reading the answers and deciding how that fit into my world.  It was pretty interesting.

I spoke with my oldest son this evening and he had been on my mind.  I asked how he was.  Ironically, I rolled the same hexagram as when I had asked how my family was this morning.  I had already had my answer about my oldest when I asked about the entire family this morning.  Not surprising I guess that the oldest child might set the tenor for the rest of the children.

I went on to ask a few more questions...

"How am I?"  My answer was quite fitting after some thoughtful consideration...

Cast Hexagram:

45 - Forty-Five

Ts'ui / Gathering

The Lake rises by welcoming and receiving Earth's waters:
The King approaches his temple.
It is wise to seek audience with him there.

Success follows this course.
Making an offering will seal your good fortune.
A goal will be realized now.

SITUATION ANALYSIS:

This is an important Convergence, and you must be part of it. (OF COURSE, I AM THE CONVERGENCE IN THIS QUESTION!  LOL)
Look for the Center of this convergence.  (THAT WOULD BE ME AGAIN...)
Like waters running to the sea, like an astronomical convergence of planets revolving around the sun, you should let the gravity of this Center draw you near. (THE MEANING I EMBRACED HERE IS THAT THE ANSWERS I'M SEEKING IN LIFE RIGHT NOW DON'T LIE IN THE OUTER WORLD, RATHER INSIDE OF ME.  IT IS I "THE KING" APPROACHING MY OWN TEMPLE "MY BODY/MY SOUL", THAT WHICH I KNOW INTRINSICLY AS ME WHICH IS THAT TEMPLE.)
Others are also drawn to this Center, and among them you will find shared bonds and kindred spirits.  (FRIENDS AND KINDRED SPIRITS ARE ALSO DRAWN TO ME AND WE ARE UNITED)
This tribal convergence will give you a clarity of purpose. (THESE ATTRACTIONS, THESE SHARED BONDS, AND FINDING ANSWERS WITHIN WILL PROVIDE CLARITY AS NEVER BEFORE.)
You will no longer be alone.  (I THINK THIS ELEMENT OF THE ANALYSIS SPEAKS FOR ITSELF)

The interesting thing here is that anybody else could have interpreted this analysis in a completely different manner than I did.  The I Ching is a great psychological, even spiritual, tool.  A guide you might say, though not a diviner of exact things, not a "fortune teller", though it places ideas into your head for you to mold and work with, and find meaning in until they fit your world most wonderfully.

I couldn't resist one last question...

"How was my childhood?"  The answer was eerily appropriate!  I had a pretty rough childhood, threw up a lot of walls to protect myself and some of my relations suffer to this day because of it...

Wind carries the Mists aloft:
Sage rulers dedicated their lives to serving a Higher Power and built temples that still endure.

The King approaches his temple.
Success if you stay on course.
You may cross to the far shore.

SITUATION ANALYSIS:

Walls meant to protect have instead separated and isolated.
Your defenses have kept you apart from those whom you most need to touch.
Whatever the reason for discord between you, it is time to lay down your arms.
Dispel the inflexible demands and fears of the Mind so that you may reunite in the Heart.
If you have begrudged, forgive.
If you have torn down, repair.
If you have injured, heal.
If you have judged, pardon.
If you have grasped, let go.

This might be good wisdom for each of us...
