Think YOU Can Make A Difference?
We often think we're insicnificant and unimportant. We don't matter and what we do doesn't matter either. What if a young 42 year-old seamstress from Montgomery, Alabama had thought though on that chilly day in December of 1955. What if she had obeyed the bus driver who told her to give up her seat to a white passenger or he would have her arrested?
She didn't budge. And she did get arrested and convicted and fined for violation of city ordinance. Her case started a whole new civil rights movement. Rosa Parks wasn't insignificant or unimportant and she knew it in her heart.
A while back I heard another story that touched my heart and made me realize that anyone can make a difference. It just takes a thought, a little touch of kindness, and follow through.
Johnny was a 19 year-old bagger in a grocery store. In itself that isn't anything unusual, but Johnny had Down's Syndrome. However, that didn't stop him from single-handedly transforming his whole grocery store.
Here is his touching story: Johnny the Grocery Store Bagger
Is there a Johnny in YOU?

Make a Difference
Hey Ilka,
Great stories and great advice. If people only realized that most of the world is just waiting for someone else to take the first step. Becoming a leader is as simple as being the one who stops waiting.
Isn't if funny how that
Isn't if funny how that works. How does Gandhi put it, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
Thanks, Chris!
