Transformative Thought

One of the biggest hurdles I've had to navigate over in my career as a Network Marketer is getting past fear and taking action.  Judging from the concerns I've heard from my peers, I'd have to say that I'm not alone in finding it challenging to move beyond my comfort zone and take consistent action to achieve my goals.

As a die hard reader I've come across many self help tools that have benefitted me, but I'd have to say my favorite is the set of suggestion CD's produced my Mike Brescia.  Mike developed a whole slew of CD's utilizing 'superlearning' techniques.  He has studied the beliefs of people who had certain habits of success; the ability to take action and not procrastinate for example, and then created CD's that stated these beliefs over 60 beat a minute Baroque music.  Mike claims subliminal programs don't work, so all of the suggestions are audible.  You can read more about this technology in the book Superlearning 2000 (Sheila Ostrander and Lynn Schroeder).  While the book provides a ton of useful information, Mike's CD's are the information in action.  The CD's cover a range of challenges from overcoming fear, procrastination and organizational issues to accelerated sales, losing weight and developing habits for getting a better night sleep.

When intending to change a set of behaviors it is better to have some exposure to the behavior modification materials over a period of time, rather than short, intense exposures.  Hysterisis is the phemomenon that describes the tendency for situations to 'snap back' to their previous, normal states.  Human behavior is rarely changed in the long term by exciting, rah-rah conferences/seminars.  So, if you purchase one of the CD's plan on investing a full week of listening to the suggestions and writing out several of them fives times each day during the week.  After that, listening once a week (perhaps as you're drifting off to sleep...) for about 90 days will give you enough exposure to the material to make the new suggestions part of your natural habits.

If you've already used Mike's CD's I'd love to chat with you about what program(s) you've worked with and whether or not you enjoyed much success.  Carpe diem!
