Shifting Sands of MLM
Wow, what a ride it has been. I started in network marketing
on January 11, 2009. I feel like I've gotten a college education
in the field in this short period. I'm beginning to learn the ins and
outs of what has value...and what doesn't. I've found myself
getting sucked into these super pre-launch frenzies only to see
them dwindle within weeks. I find it utterly amazing that
a company that purports to have a billion dollar a year potential
would use a "free" conference calling service for its team calls.
Amazing. I think though that it is part of the hype. If you
can't get on the call since it is maxed out, you feel as if this
is the real deal and there must be 1000's of people
trying to get in. Sadly, if one does a bit more research you can
find out that much is not what it purports to be.
I recommend googling all the "executive team" members names
and see what you come up with. In several cases, I couldn't find
one shred of data on a couple people. In my opinion, that is not
good. You can find more on me than several of these so-called
super stars of business and mlm...
Check out their physical addresses. Do they really even have a
storefront? If they are saying sign up for ACH (takes $ out of
your checking), be cautious. It probably means they couldn't get
a merchant account or don't have enough cash to put up as
reserve to charge credit cards... Sigh.
Do your due diligence and ask around. I am finding that if I stick
with my core, my vision and mission of life and business...what I
truly am passionate about...I feel I'm on the right track.
Finally, affiliate marketing is wonderful and has much potential. But remember...
that person or company can change the products, comp plan,
go out of business, drop websites without notice...so when possible
begin to develop your own products and services that YOU control.
People are looking for value and for something real amidst the haze
of hype and phantoms. Be that shining beacon for them!
