What is an MLM really...?

What is an MLM? Have you ever really thought about what it is you do in your home business?

Yup, I am sure you are all saying.. well I sponsor, distribute, and makes lots of money...

But have you really looked at what a MLM really is?

What I mean by this is that an MLM is more about building people up. It is reaching out to a friend or family memeber and offering them something that will better their life. Honestly look at all the MLM out there. There is one that is just right for you and your personality type. But you can't succeed in your MLM unless you help someone else. If you can't teach/support someoen then don't go into an MLM.

I would say a majority of MLM are straight forward and honest, those that are the "get rich quick" are the one that really don't care about people. That is what I would call the selfish MLM. They are in it for themselves and really just want money. Those MLM will die out fast.

A true MLM is about helping, empowering, teaching, and bettering our world. For a true MLM'er we want to see everyone succeed in life. We want people to reach their full potential. We are the mentors of the world. We are here helping each other out and doing the one thing that that makes life worth while, we care. We are unselfish with our time and efforts. We will help those around us succeed because it give us a sense of fullfillment.

Did you know that January is National Mentoring month? It is the one time of the year when people seek out mentors. We are all looking for someone to emulate. We want to be the one to change the world. When you talk to people that want to be "Rich" they talk about giving back to the community or doing something better for someone else.

Right now my Mentors are my parents. Since I went home for Christmas my life has been changes. My parents have been married for 40 year and raised 6 beautiful children. (by all means we are not perfect. LOL) When the last kid left home my parents became Foster Parents. They are giving care for children that just need a loving environment. Some of the stories I have heard, break my heart. But my parents have huge hearts. They know that they are making a difference. It really made me take stock of my life and what I can do to give back.

That is when I stopped looking at my MLM as just about me and my wants but the wants of those around me. I am finally realizing that it really isn't about me but it is about the life of the person that joins my business. My success is wrapped up in their success. It is a human chain of helping hands. The one thing that we talk about in training is that my mentors are reaching down with their hand to help me up.... but I need to raise my hand and ask for help. No one can do their MLM alone. We all need support or we create it ourselves.

No matter what MLM you are in you success is tied the golden rule.. Do unto others as you would have done onto you. You are more then just a product and a great compensation plan.... You are now a mentor and a belief for someone else.
