3 Reasons Why You’re Struggling With Recruiting Heavy Hitters To Your Business

“All you have to do is just get 3 people to sign up…”

I’m sure you’ve probably heard that before, or something that sounds a little bit like it if you’ve been in network marketing for any length of time. Your upline tells you that the secret is just to find a small group of people, get them in your downline, and you’ll be set for good.

Wrong.

You’ve probably gotten your 3, or however many you’re supposed to get, and soon after they joined up to your group…

You never heard from them again! The people that you worked so hard to get, talked to on the phone 50,000 times, took out to 3 lunches, 2 dinners, gave their kids a college scholarship, and promised to paint their house for them if they would just “jump at this incredible opportunity” that you were showing them have now left you high and dry, producing nothing and not adding a blessed person to your downline.

Now, if this isn’t you, then I’m sorry I’ve wasted your time, please feel free to move along to another article, blog post, video, or perhaps a soothing game of Bedazzled because you’ve obviously already got things figured out. Thanks for dropping by, hope to see you again soon.

For the other 99.9999% of you that are reading this, let’s continue…

You see, it’s just not about finding your 3 people, or 5 people, or whatever it may be to get to that next level in the compensation plan, or bonus, or maximized-overridden-plus-plus-multiplier pool (I love the names for those things), it’s about finding the right 3 people.

It’s about finding the heavy hitters. The people that have just as much passion as you do about being successful in network marketing. The people that hate their current situation as much as you do and are sick and tired of living the status quo life and are ready to take action, massive action, to change things immediately.

But why are you having trouble finding these people? What’s the deal?

Reason #1 – You’re looking for love in all the wrong places

Chances are, you’re not going to find one of those heavy hitters in your family. I’d go so far as to say that just by talking to your family about your network marketing business in the beginning is going to cause you more harm than it does good. Family can be a funny thing. They may tell you they want you to be successful, but just as soon as you are, things can change, usually for the worse.

Start hunting for people like you. Get online in the places where they hang out. Forums, blogs, Facebook groups, Twitter lists. These are the places where you’ll find potential partners and your heavy hitters that can build your organization (and theirs too!)

Reason #2 – You’re not interviewing your prospects

When you got your first job, chances are you had an interview. For the most part at entry-level jobs, the interview is a formality. You don’t need to impress anyone very much to qualify for a minimum wage job. But for jobs at higher levels with compensation plans similar to what you would have as a top earner network marketing, the interview process is brutal. And generally there are several interviews that have to be completed.

Start treating your prospects like you’re on a hunt for a new Executive Vice President for your own multi-million dollar company. Because really, that’s exactly what you’re doing. Don’t waste your time with people that aren’t willing to work. Dreamers are good, but if they can’t take action, leave them at home. You’re building your business here, and sometimes you really do have to look out for number one.

Reason #3 – You’re not attracting the right people

Just stop for a second and think about how you’re living your life right now. What are you doing to attract the type of people you want in your business to you? What do you talk about on a daily basis? Who do you hang out with? What kind of words come out of your mouth? Where are your thoughts?

If you want to attract the best people, you’ve got to be one of them. Stand up straight. Smile. Change your attitude for the better. Be friendly to the cashier at the grocery store. Become and example. Become a leader.

Start doing those things, and you’ll start to see your business changing. Suddenly, you’ll have people coming to you to join your opportunity. And they’ll be fantastic. They won’t talk a lot about what they’re going to do, they just do it. And you don’t have to motivate them on a daily basis to get out and do something. You start to build a business, not just have another job.

And that’s when things start to really change and you move towards accomplishing your dreams and goals.
