How to choose a domian name
Although buying a domain name may seem like a simple task, it may not be so easy. With the big boom in the online era, more and more domains are being bought every day at a blazing pace.
So How do you chose the right domain?
Choosing the right domain is key to your online business. There are many things to consider when choosing a domain name. First thing to consider when purchasing a domain name is whether you want to get a .com .net or .info. I personally would recommend a .com. Most people naturally type in .com, so you really do not want to miss out on that traffic.
3 Things to remember when choosing a domain:
You want to find a domain name that is:
1: Easy to say.
2: Easy to spell.
3: Easy to remember.
There are a also few questions to ask when considering buying a domain.
1.) Is this domain going to market you or your business?
2.) Is this domain going to market a specific product?
3.) Is this domain going to be used just to market a field/topic?
If your domain is going to be used to market you, as in your own blog, then perhaps buying your name as a domain name would be the right choice. Many people in the network marketing chose to do this to market themselves. It is also a good idea to buy your name as a domain, just to be able to market yourself or anything you want really. It is also a good idea to avoid others from purchasing your name, and turning your name into smut. Hey, it could happen.
If your website is primarily focused on marketing a particular product, then perhaps putting the title of that product in the domain would be a good idea. A few examples of that being:
www.BuyMagneticSponsoring.com
www.MagneticSponsoringReview.com
www.Magnetic-Sponsoring.com
As you can see I chose a few domains that included the product Magnetic Sponsoring in it. The reasoning behind doing this, is to help your website/blog get ranked better in search engines for the specific term. It is also for people to remember your website easily.
Lastly, if you are trying to go after a particular topic/niche then you will want to do things a little bit differently. Chosing a niche market domain to me is the hardest to chose from. The reason being because there are so many choices that you can chose from and you tend to have mutliple domains you like. That was the case when I chose my domain www.GetOnlineCashFlow.com
The reason that I chose that domain was because not only did i like the way it sounded, it also ecompased a main focus of my blog. My blog is focused on helping others make money online and get an online cash flow. However a few examples of a niche domain would be:
www.DietHealthPills
www.InternationalTravelGuide.com
www.FirstStopRealEstate.com
So as you can see, there are endless possibilities when trying to chose a domain. Do not get discouraged if the domain you want is not available. Keep searching, chances are, there is another domain name that you like as much or maybe more.
