Hold On

One of the hardest parts of realizing our dreams is the drudgery of the day-to-day work. There is usually nothing exciting or enchanting about it. It just has to get done. Sometime our plans go awry; there are the inevitable delays, mistakes, time-outs, and unforeseen obstacles. You really have to be determined to get through these times, these events, and keep going.

            I evolved an image for myself that describes the feeling of being in a difficult place and the effort it takes to move through it. When I find myself at the end of the rope, I tie a knot and swing with the hope that if I swing long and hard enough the momentum will bring me to a different place where I will prevail. This philosophy describes how to hold on and keep making the effort.
