How long before I get results?

I get asked this question alot by my business prospects, I thought I would share with you what I tell people when they ask me this particular question. I want people to know before they join, not to expect miracles overnight, and that they will actually have to do a bit of work to make their business a success.

Expect Moderate Results At First,...

This is not a ‘Get Rich Quick’ scheme – even though this business has the potential to replace your current income multiple times over in a very short time!

Considering that it takes an average of 5 YEARS before showing profit in most traditional businesses… 1 to 3 months is not that uncommon before you may see results. If given the choice between the two statistics, the latter of the two is not too bad!

Consider how long it took you to join this business. For some, it may have been several months before they decided to join. For others, it may have been in as little as a week. The average person takes at least 2 to 4 weeks to do their research, talk it over with their partner and gather their funds together. Naturally, this is not an ‘impulse’ purchase for most people - and they will need some time to feel comfortable with our program before joining.

Although most people will show a return on their investment sooner, by understanding the ‘buying process’ a prospect goes thru before joining, you will have a better idea of how and when to expect results. The general rule of thumb is this:

Whatever marketing dollars you spend in one month will show results the following month or beyond.

Why is this? Because of the buying process and the time it takes to digest our dynamic and informative program. This is why most people get discouraged the first few months if they do not see results immediately.

Unfortunately, we live in an ‘instant gratitude’ society. If we don’t see immediate results we think the program doesn't’t work. What these folks don’t understand is that “Rome wasn't’t built in a day”. There is a buying process that takes time to germinate within a prospect before they are ready to take the plunge into your business.

The Good News Is...

The longer you are active in the marketplace, the more sales you will receive. So for those of you who are just starting out, the hill is a little steeper to climb since you have no time in the marketplace yet. But once you are active for at least two to three months, you should be ‘over the hump’ so to speak – and are more likely to begin to see steady results on a weekly and monthly basis.

At this point, your membership will begin to grow much quicker and you will have marketing leverage working for you, not against you.

With that said, many members have made sales their VERY FIRST WEEK in the business… While others make several sales their first month… So this is TOTALLY POSSIBLE – But again, this is not ‘a get-rich-quick’ program. It totally depends on you and how goal-focused you are with regards to your business and how aggressively you attack your marketing campaign from the beginning.

I wish I could say that I was one of those members who made their first sales in their very first week, or even the very first month, but it took me about 3 months before I had my first person join me.

This is because I lacked confidence in the beginning, and it took me quite a while to really understand the product and how the marketing system worked. Call me slow, but I eventually had success when a family joined me at the top membership level. Once I had my first sign-up, this reinforced that I have a great product to offer, and also a great business opportunity for those who are interested.

I have since gone on to have 3 more people sign up with me, albeit at the lowest membership level, but that instills the fact that people are interested in what I have to offer, and with over 300 opt-in contacts in my database, I just have to keep telling myself what I tell others - it can take up to a few months for some to join, due to having to raise the funds up front, wanting to learn more about the business, or just being cautious.

I consider 'commitment and drive' to be the two most essential characterics required to be successful at any kind of business, especially this kind of business, which many people are often suspicious about.

So if you are having doubts about whether you have done the right thing by starting your own business, just remember what excited you enough about it to join in the first place, and remind yourself that there are lots more people out there who will be just as excited as you were! Now, go find them!
