Do You Think That Going Green Will Change Our Environment?
The decisions we make today about going green may not change our environment in a noticeable way in our lifetime, but those same decisions may have a profound effect on the environment we leave for our children and grandchildren. There are lots of small things we can do now that may make big differences in the future.
- Recycle. Not just the plastics, paper, and other recyclable, but think about recycling by reusing or re-purposing. Maybe that old piece of furniture could be fixed and given away. If you don’t absolutely have to throw it away—don’t.
- Planting. Plants are great, but be sure you plant plants that are native to your area and can grow without a lot of extra watering and chemicals. Who wants to spend all that time watering anyway!
- Drive less, walk more. Most of us can use more exercise anyway. Even though gas prices have gone down, you never know when they will go up again, so you might as well get used to walking. So walk or ride a bike when you can.
- Last, but definitely not least, start thinking about the kinds of products you are using in our homes. Are they “green?”
By definition something that is labeled as “green” means that it helps the environment or that the objective is to help the environment. One area that gong green has been a concern is with chemicals. The chemicals we use everyday to clean our homes, our offices, and ourselves.
There is another green that is of great concern in today’s economy. The green of money. We are all working hard to make ends meet. Satisfying the routine the day-to-day needs may become more of a priority than worrying about whether products are green or not. Plus sometimes green products are more expensive than the “standard” products.
What if there was a way to help the environment and put more green in your pocket at the same time? What if all you had to do was buy products that you have to buy anyway—laundry soap, fabric softener, liquid hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, dish soap, and even on luxury, hand milled soap. What if these products were all green? What if they weren’t any more expensive than similar products (and, in fact, might even be less expensive in some cases)? What if you could make money simply by buying these products on a monthly basis?
If all this sounds interesting, you should check out http://gobewisenow.com. This company has taken the best of the best ingredients to make green products. Green can help, but not solve..
I choose everyday to live green, recylcing, buying green products, and using green certified products as well as vitamins from a company that is 100% carbon neutral that I'm currently working with.
BUT, there is still a major problem with the world today. Going green won't be able to solve all of the crap that we have already destroyed..........it can't bring that stuff back.
What we need to be focusing on now is using products that are green certified and aren't wasting precious resources, we must find ways of using products that are recycled and find ways to get more products to be recycled. By doing this, we will help to provide a better environment for the future generations.
I'm doing as much as I can to get people to use recycled products and even small things like taking a bag into the grocery store with you help the planet. Just simple things. The easiest thing I believe for all of us is to start off small. Start by taking a bag with you into a grocery store or shopping, this won't waste the plastic bags that are often handed away by cashiers. It takes 21 days to develop a habit and this is one that will benefit you and the planet. Just think, no more bags full of bags sitting inside your house!
As a college student I see the importance of doing this a lot especially living in dorms. So much trash is taking to land fills each year and almost 50-60% of this stuff can be recycled. Help people become aware.
Even the small steps we take can add up to big things. One bag saved a day by 100,000 people is 100,000 bags :-)
I think it will. We can do
I think it will. We can do something to change our environment even in just simple ways we can. For instance using bicycle rather than driving car. This is one of the debates over environment. On local and state amounts, numerous studies indicate the economic effects of bicycling versus driving can't be ignored, states Elly Blue on Grist. By conservative estimate, each person in the United States who drives a car to work could conserve between $ 3,000 and $ 12,000 yearly. And the savings grows by around $ 1,000 each year.
