How to Build Rapport to Get Leads
In order to build a successful network marketing business there are a few things you must have. You have to be thick skinned as you WILL get some rejection and objections. Do not take it personal. You have to be in it for the long term as network marketing is not a get rich quick scheme and you have to be able to get great leads for MLM opportunities.
This article is to help you take people that you DO NOT KNOW and bring them aboard your business or team, or even simply buy your products.
The best advice we can offer with social networking or offline networking to get leads for MLM opportunities is to “Be Nice.” Wow, isn’t that simple? By just being a nice person, you will create a large warm market from the people you do not know. Stop seeing everyone as just a number or a paycheck. Stop the mentality that everyone you talk to has to be in your business or they are not worth your time or effort. When you have faith and confidence in yourself and your ability to connect with others, you can’t fail.
Find things you have in common with people or your prospects. Ask them questions about themselves. Here are some examples:
- I see you have children, how old are they? Another example, do they play sports?
- I see you are in Georgia. What a beautiful state with a lot of history, how long have you lived there?
- I see you have a Cocker Spaniel, I love dogs! How old is he/she?
- I see you’re a Dallas Cowboy fan, so am I! How long have you been a fan?
- I see you are very successful in real estate, that’s impressive. How long have you been in the field?
Don’t just ask questions though, you also have to offer personal information about yourself as well. It’s a lot of give and take.
Don’t pitch your business right away and don’t have your social media profile full of sales pitches or products. You see the point is to build rapport and to pre qualify to ensure you want those individuals in your business. Be a human first and a business person second. You need to understand that even when you create relationships, it is still possible that people you talk to will still tell you no, but at least you made a connection. You just never know when that person may come back to you after telling you no and actually say yes simply because they trust you and like you! People join people not businesses.
