Successful People's Mindset
Today I was thinking of a couple of things that make successful people more successful and will make me successful. Actually that statement I just made ^^^^ right there^^^^ is an example of just that!
Reason being is the un questioned assurance and meaning behind every word I type on this thing is loaded with confidence. Saying words "when this will happen" rather than "if this does happen" if your living in a world of "ifs" than something isn't going right in your life or you haven't been able to learn from mistakes and hardships you've faced; therefore, something happens, you become gun shy and hesitant. One thing I learned is that hesitation in fact killed the cat, not curiosity. In order to become successful hesitation simply cannot happen.
Second thing that makes people successful is the ability to measure success. This is where goal setting takes place. Goal setting is the art of measuring success. In my own personal experience, there hasn't been one goal of mine I haven't met in the time frame I designate, at the beginning of each year, I set personal goals. I write them on note cards, once a goal has been met to my satisfaction, I file it away, always reminding me that when a goal or something seems unachievable, I look at past accomplishments and it makes me strive that much further to become excellent and obtain the goal.
Third thing is "what do you do once the goal has been met" this is how to go from good to great. One saying in sports we had was, "good, better, best. Never let it rest till the good bet better and the better get best" this is the point I'm making, never get comfortable, this is something I don't do, I'm always looking ahead. Goal achievement is only the beginning, not the end. It's what you take from goals that help you progress.
For me there are a lot of goals I have for 2009. What things do you have to do to become successful? One things for sure, I can measure success so stay tuned and watch me go!
