Branding With Content – Do You Know Who Your Target Market Is?
How To Find Your Ideal
Prospect and Market To
Them
In today’s post I’m going to be sharing with you something that is extremely important if you’re building your brand online.
One common mistake that most new marketers make online is that they market to
everyone instead of narrowing down on a specific target market is.
Have you ever watched a commercial or paid attention to any advertisement campaign? They have something similar in common; they market their product and or service to a specific demographic of people.
As network marketers it is important to use marketing that is geared toward your specific target audience.
So Who Is Your Target Audience?
Well this depends on who you would consider as your ideal prospect. Here are some of the questions that can assist you when considering your target market:
Are they working? If so, are they full-time or part-time?
Are they in school?
Do they have children?
Are they married?
What is their average income range?
Do they own a home?
Are they retired?
Are they an entrepreneur?
Do they travel?
Are they already in the network marketing or direct sales industry?
Do they enjoy exercising?
Are they into healthy eating?
Do they wear make up or enjoy beauty products?
You may feel that some of these questions are a bit too personal, but really the more specific you are the better idea you will have of who it is that you want to market to. If you noticed, some of the questions are very specific even to the point of personal interests.
You need to market to people who may be interested in what you have to share, and everyone isn’t interested in what you have to offer.
So How Do You Find Your Target Market?

You find Facebook fanpages, websites, forums, online communities, offline meet ups and networking events that they’re a part of and seek out friendships with them. It’s important before you ever mention anything about business to make sure that you’re sorting through your potential prospects. Although you may have found what you feel is your ideal prospect, there’s still a qualifying process that needs to take place. You can see whether or not they would qualify for what you have to offer by building a relationship with them and asking questions.
Branding Your Content With Purpose
When you’re creating content and building your brand online, be sure when you’re putting value into the market place that you create your content with the intention of marketing to your target audience.
Most novice marketers make the mistake of trying to market their business online to everyone. You don’t have to market to everyone that has a pulse.
Get serious about narrowing down exactly who you’re looking to do business with and it can mean all the difference for you in business.
Do not be all things in your content, connect with your target audience and let them know that you are an authority leader in your niche.
For an example when building a blog, create a body of work that is conducive. If someone was to visit your blog, would the information there want to make them read the entire body of work, or would they be confused and misguided by little “islands of mismatched information” on your blog?
In anything that you do whether it’s a status update, a video, or an article make sure you’re writing to your target market. The better you get at doing this, the more likely you will be able to attract the best people for you to build a business or partnership with.
