How To Know Which Marketing Strategy To Use...

How To Know Which Type Of Marketing To Focus On?

In today’s post I’m going to be sharing with you some really simple tips that’s going to help you to choose a marketing technique that you can focus on.

What are the different types of marketing strategies?

First off let me start by saying that there are a variety of different types of marketing that you can do.

Blogging

Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Linked In)

Video Marketing

Article Marketing

Solo Ads

Offline Marketing

Meet Up Groups

And so much more…

With all the different types of strategies, it’s easy to get confused and overwhelmed…

Whichever You Choose….Always Keep It Real

Back in 2010 I was approached by someone to do a JV (joint venture) partnership for SEO and while it seemed like something that could be the chance for me to make a ton of money, and get a bunch of visibility for my brand…it just wasn’t something that I felt comfortable to agreeing to.

In the end I turned down the opportunity.  Why?  Well because it wasn’t an area where I felt that I knew most about and I knew that I had to trust my gut instinct.
In the end, staying true to myself was WAY more important than making some upfront cash.
If there’s one thing that I’ve learned as a marketer is that you don’t have to be a master at everything, nor should you ACT like you know everything.
Well because I’m in no way an SEO expert.  Do I understand some of it?  – Yes.  I know just enough to get my stuff out there to be picked up on the search engines and to get traffic.

However, I knew that because it wasn’t my “thing” that I wouldn’t feel comfortable accepting money from people.

Pick 1 or 2 and MASTER IT!

Let me say this….

They ALL work, however it’s important to hone in and focus on 1 or 2 strategies that you feel you’re most comfortable with and MASTER THEM.

Then once you’ve got some results from it then you can move on to others.

So how do You Know Which Strategy To Use?

Depends on what you feel you can be consistent with and what you feel comfortable with for starting out.

If you love to write but hate video maybe blogging is for you.

Perhaps you have a TON of personality that can be conveyed well in video, then you should choose that over blogging.

Maybe you’re a really good presenter, then perhaps you may want to attend or host a meet up group.

Or maybe you’re what I like to call one of the “analytical” types…you know the ones with the engineer brains….and you love picking stuff apart and figuring out a bunch crazy things, that when I see them looks like a foreign language… then SEO would be perfect for you.
Whichever you choose make sure that it’s something that you can commit to and be consistent with.
It should also be something that you love and you’re passionate about.  There’s nothing worst than seeing someone forcing themselves to do something they dislike.   Trust me this is something that you don’t want to do, it will come across CLEAR as day in your marketing if your not sure of yourself.
