“Standing Out In The Crowd”

Have you "sensed" you're competing with too many people all going after the same type of prospect?

Your next step in taking your business up several notches is to find a NEW target audience… one without a lot of competition.

Don’t Just Go After Network Marketers!

This is the problem with using MLM Lead Systems.  Sure, use them… but don’t ONLY use them.

It should just be a part of your overall strategy, if at all.  It is too limiting by itself.  You're competing with too many people.

If you've gone through your Professional training at Marketing Merge, what you need to do next is leverage what you have already established (leverage your blog, Squidoo, and your other content... and what you’ve learned about attracting your target market).

It’s time to attract a NEW kind of lead to you now (a better lead).

When you set out to attract a new kind of lead (a new target audience such as the one I'll be telling you about)... it'll be easier to 'be found' if you've already built a foundation when you started.

It'll be easier to create incoming links to your new content (because you already have content to link from) so you'll get faster exposure than ever before...  You will be found on the search engines much more quickly than your first time around when you got started.

And...

You already have a presence at many social networking locations with fans and a following.  Everything will move faster.

That Is How I Keep Growing My Business

Build upon the foundation you already have to go after a new 'fresh' target market.

THAT is the key to everything I’ve been teaching.  It’s how you move up, up, up.

Here I give you the most valuable tip I’ve ever given away.  I’ll tell you exactly what type of person you should be attracting now.  Sure, once I tell you this it'll be obvious.  And yet, you're not doing it so how obvious was it?

Below, wrapped in a tight little bow.

Merry Christmas,
Mike Klingler

Keep Targeting New Groups Of People... Never Stop At Just One

Start with one target audience.  Then move to the next.  All should be related to one another in some way (like network marketing leads are related to targeting realtors who are out of work and looking for opportunity, etc).

This is the strategy I have followed from the beginning.

It's how I went from generating very few leads… to attracting over a thousand leads in just a few days my first time.  And I keep using this strategy to move up, up, up.

By 'leveraging the news' I learned how to catapult my business and financial status over and over again.  When I wasn't doing that I was just preparing to (by building my web of content, tinkering with my blog, supporting the list I grew from the time before).  Then, when I saw the opportunity arise, I was positioned to pounce and take advantage of the next event.

Because you see, each event (news related, or a new book release, fad, etc) represents a new target audience that is fresh and where there is little competition.  Keep leveraging your old foundation (blog, knowledge, etc) to go after a new target market.

Right now there is something huge going on.  But this is bigger than anything I've seen  before.  It's an enormous opportunity and is long-lasting.

This news is bigger than the launch of any book, system or company.  It's bigger than the growing audience of networkers coming online.  And... there is little competition, which makes it an amazing opportunity for us all.

It's where I'm heading next... and you can too.

The Economy Is Changing Fast.  Upgrade Your Lifestyle By Leveraging This News...

Today's news...

Employers cut 533,000 jobs in Nov., most in 34 years; unemployment rate rises to 6.7 percent

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Skittish employers slashed 533,000 jobs in November, the most in 34 years, catapulting the unemployment rate to 6.7 percent, dramatic proof the country is careening deeper into recession.

The new figures, released by the Labor Department Friday, showed the crucial employment market deteriorating at an alarmingly rapid clip, and handed Americans some more grim news right before the holidays.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What You Can Do To Leverage This Monumental Economic Event...

Target this larger growing group of people who are also hungry for opportunity... all those people losing their jobs.  And all those people, of which there are many more, afraid they are about to lose their jobs.

Study the 'Writing with Pull Class' in the professional back office, as well as 'The 7 Lessons to Attract Prospects to You' inside Renegade University and Magnetic Super Star... so you know exactly HOW to attract THAT group of people.

Get through the social marketing tutorials and start building your content for THAT target market.

Create a lead capture page that talks only to THAT target market.  But don't lead them into an MLM Lead system that doesn't 'talk directly to them.'  Guide them through a process that leads them to seeing the value of you and your industry, opportunity, etc.  You can lead them to call you.

Start by going in steps.  This is exactly what I keep doing to boost my business, expanding and strengthening my foundation as it becomes easier and easier to attract larger new target audiences each time there is news or an event I can leverage.

1. First go through the exercise in 'Writing with Pull' and the "7 Lessons to Attract Prospects" to get a list of topics and become very familiar with your niche groups you can attract in this new audience (those losing their jobs or the larger group who are afraid they are next).

2. Then create some content.

3. Then create the lead capture page.

4. Then link the lead capture page at your blog and other content you begin creating for that target audience.

Then you're generating leads.

So.. then, work on your auto resonder while you're generating leads.  Don't feel a fear of loss that you're not optimizing the leads coming in right away... build this in stages.

Work on the auto-responders to set it up so you provide value at first.  Don't sweat it if they aren't calling you because the auto-responders aren't optimized initially.  You may have to call a few of the leads and get more familiar with their needs for a bit... before knowing how to really maximize the potential.

Then improve your message and auto responders so you get them calling you, already pre-sold on working with you in your business opportunity.

Do this and you'll increase your lead flow, have people to talk to who nobody else is talking to (unlike your MLM Leads) and you'll get better and better and the auto responders so they call you.

Your Content Locations To Begin At Once...

Create new content on your blog (if you have one) or start a blog (if you don't have one) that attracts THAT target market... with links to the lead capture page that target THAT target market.

Create videos that 'speak' to this market.

Develop an auto-responder for this target market.

Heck, if you've gotten through our entire series you should be ready to start creating your own report (possibly charging for it) for your own funded sponsoring proposal for this target market.

And...

PPC (Google adwords) will work very well if you target THIS target market because so few people are.

This audience is growing.    It will continue to grow.  There's very little competition.  This group has more money to spend on starting a business.  They have very few options.  You can help them and get wealthy doing so.

Why aren't you doing this yet?

It's easier to use a lead system?  Wrong.  How many years will you keep thinking that a system will get you far enough.  Lead systems are tools to use as part of a bigger strategy.  That's all.

I am constantly amazed at how many opportunities are around us right now.  It's mind boggling.   Everything you need to know on how to attract huge numbers of leads is covered in the Professional training area.  But you have to bring something.  Mostly you need to open up and accept the opportunity around you.  Be willing to serve others who need to learn what you have learned (or are learning).

We show you click by click how to set up all of the things above in the Professional area.

Think an MLM lead system is your ticket to success?  Think again.  The market is becoming saturated with lead systems that attract networkers.  Even if you're attracting 20 leads a day with a lead system, those leads are heading onto 20 other people's system's list.

We need to break into a new market who will likely only end up on YOUR list and your list alone.  Step away from the crowd of marketers attracting networkers and go after a bigger, more hungry crowd (people who lost their jobs or are afraid they are about to).  This new audience is fresh, more eager... they have more motivation because their circumstances have just drastically changed.  Many of them have access to a lot more capital.

You should always be looking for a new target market.  I see so many people just sitting on one.

This is what I've been teaching in Professional.

Going after networkers is only a small part of what you should be doing.

Stand out in the crowd.

I'll keep supporting the message I shared with you today.  But jump ahead.  Get into your professional training (again if necessary) and apply what you're learning to THIS huge event.   Leverage the news.
Partners in success,
Mike Klingler

Right On

Mike,

Let me start by saying that 2 months ago I didn't know what SEO stood for.

Today I helped one of my new clients to get a new optimized domain name, I helped her optimize her PPC add so that now she is on Google’s first page with a very popular keyword, I helped her join an affiliate program with a company that sells products that complement her services.

Now she has an effective add on Google PPC, a new optimized domain name, and a new stream of income with more to come...

This is a business that she has owned for several years, and has nothing to do with Network Marketing, I didn’t present myself as a SEO expert either. She found me from the internet presence that I have created since I started as a renegade professional two months ago.

I just shared the techniques that I have been learning to promote myself, and my business. If anybody wants to check it out type my name (Roberto G Guerrero) on Google, and see how many times I come out on the first page. At the end she was very happy with what I was able to do for her, so happy that she joined my network marketing team.

Real value and relationships is what is all about, systems come and go.

Run With the Ball Roberto!

Roberto,

You are so on track.  That is such a wide open market, which can be cultivated to attract so many types of leads for an MLM, or for other information products you create that tie into your MLM (like your own funded proposal) as well as coaching, etc... for monetization while building your MLM.

It's such a powerful post you just made.  You're a real business owner offering real services, building relationships that really lead to referrals, many income streams, and that attract truly good contacts that are Do'ers.

The problem with attracting MLM Leads is they are not the brightest bulbs in the bunch.  They end up on dozens of poeple's lists, often seeking something that will 'do it for them.'  They typically have little if anything to invest into a business.  They are prone to quite quickly if they do join you... looking for the next big thing.  Not everyone is this way, of course.  It's just the trend as compared to business people like Roberto is talking about.

Successful business people have pre-established networks of poeple who trust their opinion (they often already have lists and strong relationships with other business people)... they are often more capitalize to invest into an opportunity or buy whatever you sell, and have stronger success mindsets, (a far better understanding of what it takes to succeed).  Because of all this they make far better business prospects than the typical MLM Lead we are used to seeing join our list. Of course, the same could be said of a realtor, mortgage broker or consultant recently displaced by the economy and the financial industry. The same can be said of many of the hundreds of thousands of people more motivated than ever right now to start a business of their own who never had before

Thanks for sharing that Roberto!  Glad to hear you 'got' the teachings of Renegade Professional!

You clearly did.  Keep running with the ball.  It's an open field in front of you!

The Auh Huh Monment

Great topic Mike,I've been using the economic crisis myself to target a market that I work around every day traditional bricks and mortar business owners.Contract service business are taking a huge hit because of the economic situation and I've been spreading the word about network marketing as a viable way to at least supplement incomes until things get better which doesn't look like its going to happen any time soon.

People are really starting to listen and they're asking questions especially in my case offline which is kind of weird being an online marker myself.I ordered some business cards the other day with my network marketing business on them because I'm getting calls from people who were referred to me by someone else.

Usually I'll point them to blog so they can check the content that I've created over the past several months.I've gotten comments from business buddies who first of all can't believe what I've done and secondly want to know how to get started.Your right on point with leveraging this monumental economic event the wave is coming will you be prepared.

This is Great News

This is a spectacular article. There are masses of individuals worldwide and groups who have not been touched yet and just by you stating this in your article has inspired me to continue the course I started on in January 2008 and that is to stick with a training that teaches me how to brand myself like no one else can. Thank you so much for your continued guidance.

Thank you

Thanks Mike for this great article & I am so blessed to be one of your students.

I bought Magnetic Sponsoring in August 2006, read the book, highlighted few places & returned to my book shelf. It wasn't that I was lazy to learn, I was too scared to venture into an unknown.

My upline never supported me with that, & I was told to put my blinkers on & get to work. I did exactly that, still buying leads hoping & wishing this will work ! Until I maxed out 3 credit cards creating a huge debt.

I decided that I need to do something else, take responsibility & learn what I need to succeed was a huge step for me. I started my search on the internet & I found one of my friends from the MLM Company I am with on Facebook.

She directed me to the great education provided by The Renegade University. I am eternally grateful for her.

I may be a slow learner but I have put most of the great teachings of Magnetic Sponsoring to practice with your help.

This article again is great eye opener for me being a member of a Lead System. I am in the process of building Me Inc. with the help of the university, my colleagues, many great trainers & authors.

Thank you for your Great Gift!

What a gift!

Thanks for the Christmas present, Mike!

Sometimes you have to be pushed to think out of the box.  I have noticed lately that a lot of my leads are really going thru a difficult time financially and really need guidance.  I am more than happy to assist them by suggesting a number of no or low cost ways to get into Attraction Marketing, whether or not they join my team.  I'm not sure there are very many that would help out in this situation.

The bottom line is that we are working together to solve problems, and building relationships that I hope will last a long time, not just be a flash in the pan affiliate commission.  I appreciate the suggestions to hopefully attract those that really need the help.

Thanks for the guidance,

Great content

Mike,

You are really posting very value informations, Thanks a lot.

As competetion becomes high, its really tough to be in same Target market. It will become like 10 grocery shops selling same stuff in a street. One has either come up with new store(new value added content) or completely change location of shop(i.e. different potential target market).

           Thanks once again Mike.

Raghu.

I Really Like This Article

Mike

This is some great information. I just started working with Renegade University last month and I have learned so much. I have also been able to apply the things I am learning. Everything I learn from you is of great value. I also have been with Better networker for just a  few weeks.

I had searched and searched on the internet for something like Renegade University and I know if I was searching for it other people are too. I have never in the almost 5 years that I've had a home business produced my own contacts. I always purchased my leads which really lead me no where. Before I started with my training I knew nothing about Blogs, Ezines, Social networking etc etc. until I came across your teachings at Renegade Univeristy. It has been a wonderful asset to my business and it has helped me in learning and utilizing all the content. I still have a lot to learn.

This article you've written here on Better Networker has given me some great ideas. So I will get them started today.

Thanks Mike

Thanks, Roberto!!

Hi Roberto,

Thanks so much for sharing your comment with all of us. I must admit I just joined the Renegade Professional and I'm still a little lost. That's why it's so inspiring and encouraging to hear from someone that started only two months ago, and to know that it is possible to offer that kind of help to others.

How To Use "Professional"

Hi Maria,

I think the Professional training area can be a bit of a shock for people initially... it's the first time for many people they're really setting out to create something they own, that gets customers interested and coming to THEIR door, and that allows you to earn income through many ways while you build.

Check out this other comment by Dotty, one of our students who joined us last year (she put this comment in another discussion here on the same topic):

Dotty writes:

"My target market is small business owners. You would be surprised how many people are out there that want to learn Internet Marketing to promote thier own businesses. These people are not MLM people - at least they do not think so. The skills needed to run a business and keep an MLM downline are very similar - just don't let the secret out! :D

I am creating a world where business owners ao all types are seeking me out to learn how to promote themselves or thier business on the Internet. I have an MLM background and I am using the skills learned to help both Network Marketers and brick and morter business owners.
Be a leader in your area of expertise - people will follow - it is in their nature."

Here's a link to Dotty's post

I'm sure Dotty felt the same way you do when she started as well.  I used to spend more time on webinars to help confirm to newbies they are doing great--because at first it can feel like you just don't know if you're doing things right.  I may start some 'support' calls like that again soon for newbies.

How To Use Professional

The key is to start at the beginning in the Start Here section and do evertyhing it walks you through.  You have to put more time upfront before exepecting the desired result.  But compare this to the old way of MLM--where it was so easy to teach and implement "going through the numbers" so you always felt that "My BIG Success Is That Next Person I Talk To..." or, after you signed someone up you were on cloud nine.  But that was all an illusion.

So my recommendation is to just take it one step at a time with the realization that you are building something real.  Don't try to force it.  Don't try to get results before you've really dug into the steps outlined.  Let yourself build your own web of content and identity--you will then find your own way of using what you're learning to be truly in business, financially successful and personally feeling valuable to others.

Thanks for stopping in and sharing!

Mike

P.S. Here's a link to a fantastic post in the other thread about this topic, by Eric Walker. This post could move some people forward in understanding all this pretty quickly:

The new market

Hi Mike!  Thanks for your article about going after a new market.  I am new to MarketMerge but since joining I have been writing to the over 50 market gereration, of which I am a member. I believe this market has been affected to most by this downturn we find ourselves in. They need to know there are options out there for them to help them maintain their retirement goals.  I have about 30 articles out there and admit I have not had a lot of success yet, but it has not been that long and I know success will come as long as I keep spreading that web of content you talk about. I do have a blog geared to that generation, thanks to marketmerge. Again your opinion is appreciated.

Thanks Mike, what a great article. Renegade University is a great education program to learn from. You get such value in this community. I haven't really been putting it to use like I suppose, but I have been learning quite a few valuable tips. Thank you Mike for giving this community such valuable advice.

Response to Thank You

Damayanthi, You hit the nail on the head with your comment,

"I decided that I need to do something else, take responsibility & learn what I need to succeed was a huge step for me."

Taking responsibility distinguishes a leader from a follower.  A true leader stops looking to others to "make" them successful and begins to develop the skills needed to "be" successful.  Systems are great but the only way to get out of the sardine can is to develop the skills you need to learn how to catch the fish in your fishing hole.  Mike does that better than anyone I've studied under.

Happy Casting,

Ruth

Confirmation And Reassurance! Thanks Mike . . .

I still can't believe the value contained in the professional area. This stuff is the real deal (and real work too).

What you're saying now, Mike, confirms what I've been sl-o-o-o-o-w-ly realizing over the last several months of my subscription. I'm sure I am on the right track now and that's reassuring.

Thanks

What A Great Idea.

Thanks for the heads up Mike. The world is changing so rapidly. Who could have guessed how quickly various industries are downsizing their work forces?

As you say, now is a great time to focus on those who may be worried about unemployment and uncertainty, and that has to be a huge market right now.

Renegade University is a great source of ideas and help to us all. We appreciate it.

Thanks again.....Rod

Just what the doctor ordered!

Mike,

Thanks for this post. After reading this I sat back and smiled becasue this is exactly what I have been targeting, people effected by the poor economy. I was in the auto industry for 18 years and we all know what's going on there, scary stuff.  I heard somewhere in Professional that we should check the news and write stuff about that...and so I did!!

I will send you a shout on Digg so you can see my newest (basically first) article. I would love some feed back and ideas on it since I am just new.

Thanks,

The 'sardine can' was getting a bit cramped!

A wake up call is what you are giving us and boy is it needed! I think that part of the thoughts about 'duplication' of the process can lead many of us into thinking that there is only one target market, when there are literally thousands.

Clearly, when we understand what we can offer to those looking, boundaries we've been working within change.

Roberto has done exactly that. He undertood what he could offer and provided this value. It became a win-win for them both.

If you take things just a few steps further and think a bit 'outside ' the MLM square, the mind boggles at the possibilities of how we can help others to achieve success in whatever their business is. Once you know how to attract others to you, think of how you can influence and even change the world. one step at a time. Positive influence and a helping hand go far and we certainly need that now.

Attraction marketing can touch people in ways many haven't even thought of. So thanks for getting us out of the sardine can as it was getting mighty crowded.

Mike

It's great to have someone like you sharing their experience to help others reach their dream. You pass on a lot of great information, so it's important for those joining Renegade Professional not to feel overwhelmed, and just take one step at a time getting through the information, as they put it to use.

Thanks Mike.

Another Eye Opener

Mike,

Once again you have jolted us all into moving forward with our eyes open.  When I joined Renegade University 5 months ago, I wanted to learn how to attract leads to me for my Network Marketing business.  Now, my MLM is only a small part of where I want to take what I am learning.  Thanks to Renegade Professional, I have been able to fund my business over the past several months with my affiliate marketing while at the same time learning the ins and outs of attraction marketing and taking my business on-line. I have helped others do the same and find there is an enormous market out there for people who are educated in what we do.   The possiblities are endless and I am excited to see where the next few years takes us all.

Plodding on!

Thanks you all for your input. I really appreciate all the encouragement and extra bits that are added in such discussions.
I am also grateful to know that it doesn't happen overnight!. Sometimes I wonder what the hang I am doing here and if I should give up, but I have gone so far now that giving up would be terrible...so, I am plodding on and thanks Mike for once again reminding that it is a step-by-step progress.

I feel real comfortable here and hope to also be of encouragement and help to others.

Greetings at advent time

I knew this...

I already knew this... but I didn't know it, if you get my meaning.  Let me put it this way...

I had a gut feeling for some time that what you have discussed here was indeed the way things are and the way things should be done but as I am to some degree still a newbie I had no way of proving it.

But inside I always thought this was a better way to go rather than target network marketers online.

I have just been headhunted by a team of offline network marketers who wanted me to join to help them with their capture pages etc, in return I get some very special treatment, but I have never in my life seen offline people recruit as well as what these guys do.  And they are targetting the same audience you mention here... well connected business people with disposable income that are looking for something new right now.

One guy in our team has owned a Jet Ski business for many years and he is just fed up with the whole thing plus the economy is causing a huge downturn in his business and he is so pumped and excited about our business opportunity.  He has heaps of money and heaps of contacts.

These top recruiters are hitting their business contact list and getting amazing results.

Well done.. a great article.

You could just sense this...

I actually joined one of those lead systems.

You are correct, most do not convert to a real lead. If you are tracking the opens, you find that many of them dont even read the autoresponder messages, let alone sign up for anything that would help with their business. You definately get the sense that they are feeling very targeted and are probably just looking at your offer along with 10 others the same day. Now I mainly use it to learn about other marketing strategies while I build out my own website with the tools that I have learned at your University.

Of course you are also right on when you say that everything you need is right at your fingertips at the marketing merge professional training area. I just referred the computer tech in my networking group to the professional training because he mentioned that he wants to figure out how to link all of his social sites together. When I mentioned attraction marketing training he wanted to sign up right away. People are very hungry for what we have to offer.

In regards to additional target markets. I recently added the folks in the banking sector. Where are they going to go for a job in the banking industry? I have an article on my website that talks about the time they will have while on unemployment. They could be using this as an opportunity to create a back up plan so that this doesn't happen to them again.

Thanks for the reminder and helpful content structuring ideas, this should help me create the linking that is needed to get the right traffic to the website.
