A couple of years ago I worked as a restaurant manager .
About once a week someone would not show up for work.
I hope the two excuses below that two of the employees gave me,
will sound as funny to you as they did back then to me:
#1. ''I was about to get married but I've changed my mind!''
#2. ''My boyfriend had a brain surgery and I had to drive him to the hospital.''
