Who needs Education? Just Ask? And Listen!!!

It is evident that education as outlined in Mr Hills book is the development from within.

It reminds me a lot of my very own father.  After the 2nd grade his parents made him come home and work the fields.  This was so that the family could eat of course.

That did not deter him from his education.  With attitude of I just need to ask.  He went to a pretty large farmer in the next county over and sat down on the front porch with him one sunny afternoon and said to him Mr. Jim I have a idea.  Mr. Jim said go on a head and he did.

After a few things passed back a forward Mr. Jim gave my father the some encouraging  advise and back then a couple of hundred dollars to buy a little farm, with a promise and handshake to pay him back in a year.

Now was that the end of the mentoring no.  My father went to Mr. Jim on many occasions to ask him how he should do this and that to get the results he was looking for.  This was a process.  There are no short cuts to success.  People look at Michael Jordan, Bill Dell, Ray Kroc and countless other successful people and I can do that and you can.  You must surround yourself with a supporting cast through self development and training persistently and consistently.

My father is now 80 years old with a 2nd grade schooling and a PHD in education.  His ability to educate himself through positive influence and hard work transformed his efforts from a 15 acker farm into a 75 acker farm with many tracks, rental homes and a service station and oil company.

Just as Mr. Ford, and a lot of the other great leaders in our time.  He surrounded and used the education of real life from others and became more than anyone could see on the outside.

The question is who are you getting your education from?

One of the most important aspects of building a home business is personal development. Personal development has been key for my own personal success not just in network marketing but in all aspects of my life.

My grandfather also did not

My grandfather also did not attend a classroom confined within walls. His was the school of life as so many in his time.Yet he grew to own 3 restaurants, all very successful, built airplanes ( 747) and was a brilliant man. The school of life has so much more to teach than an out dated text book.

Positive Influence Is The Key,

Sometimes you learn more from positive influences than from schools...

Something about Hard focused Work!!!

Hi Zelphina,

I admire people like your grandfather and my father. Education is only hard to come by if you are not willing to learn.

We appreciate your comment.

Have a Blessed and Great Day,

Danny & Laura

Danny

I really learn alot from you and your stories. I use to think a high school and college education is everything. But I am learning in real life is be more like your father. Who Learns from those that have what he wants. Brilliant.

Rich Dad Poor Dad

This article reminds me of the book Rich Dad Poor Dad. It doesn't matter how many diplomas are on your wall if you can't apply the knowledge and live a better life.

Danny, your dad may not be college educated, but he is rich indeed his resourcefulness. What a great example to follow.

You Definitely Do Learn More From Positive Influences

You definitely do learn more from positive influences because you have more fun working with them than the people you have went to college with. Because people feel obligated to finish college just to keep their respect with others going and that fear puts them into negativity mode.

Great Article!

Your greatest education is knowing who to ask. We do learn from life experiences rather than any text book.

The School Of Hard Knocks !

Think and Grow Rich is a Tremendous Book to read. If you would like to read about some Amazing stories about men that had a Bigger than life desire to become Successful. They wouldn't allow a lack of education to stop them. If you want to acheive Success you are going to have to get your thinking right, and you are going to have to learn the skills that it takes to reach that level, and last but not least as Danny said you are going to need a Mentor.

So true!

Thank you for sharing the story about your Dad, Danny. My Dad is a very brilliant man, and I love and admire him very much. He so wanted to go to college after high school, but his family was very poor, so it was out of the question. He didn't let his disappointment govern the rest of his life, though. He went to work for his father-in-law in a machine shop. He applied what he learned and soon had his own successful machine shop, making parts for the, then very secret and classified, Stealth Bomber.

There is so much emphasis placed on formal education today, and very few people with college degrees actually go on to work in their field of study. I should know, I'm one of them! :)

So thank you for reminding us that education doesn't always come from school!

I appreciate you, Danny!
