Is it hard to be a creative writer?

I am new at this blogging deal, so I went online for advice, tips, etc from "experts" . My daughter, a journalism major, sent me an article that basically said the attention span of anyone reading a blog is less than that of an ant, so make bullet lists! Much of the advice from "experts" said the same thing: be sincere, share a novel idea, be combative with others (don't we have enough fighting in the world??!!) , link and post others blogs,etc...In the end, I decided that if my little pea brain could not find enough to write about , then I probably should not be blogging anyway! I appreciate real examples from real life from others and will try to contribute the same.
