How to Spot an MLM Novice
Orville Campbell, MD - The AdaptogenDoctor
For me to join any organization, the individual trying to recruit or sponsor me must be a leader. You only want to be on a winning team. If the individual is not a leader, he or she is probably a novice. Here's how to tell.
- Tries to sell you immediately rather than getting to know you. A leader or "A" type individual only wants "A" type recruits or team members. How can you sell something to someone who you don't know what motivates them or even know what their goals are. They should have a spirit of trying to Help you not just trying to see what they can Sell you.
- Knows very little or nothing about the products or services. Only interested in showing the plan. It's the product or service which will cause your company to survive.
- Uses the wrong words or powerless words frequently: I think; I believe; that's what I was told, I dont know, maybe, etc.
- They may never repeat your name after being introduced. People like to know you remember their name and like to hear people use it in their conversation. This is a powerful tool.
- Not dressed for success. Look at the shoes. Are they dirty. Do you see hangar marks on clothing such as pants.
- Invade your personal space by standing or sitting too close. This makes for a strained and uncomforatable conversation.
- Talks down or in a condescending tone. Very annoying. Like the loud cars salesman on television.
- Doesn't know how to explain how you "make money". In other words, can't explain the compensation plan. Furthermore, they can't tell you what is an income disclosure statement.
- Don't have their own website. If they do, it's usually the opportunity company replicated website or one of those free websites that reads: www.TheCowJumpedOverTheMoon.something/AnotherLongName
- Don't have their own business cards.
- Only in one opportunity rather than them being the business (You, Inc.) with different opportunities to offer.
- They cold called you from either bumping into you or a purchased prospecting list or whatever the method.
- They don't have their own domain. So, their company or business email is usually at Yahoo, Hotmail, gmail, ,etc.

1.tries to sell you
1.tries to sell you immediatley... why not? a newbie is letting you know what they have.
2.Not dressed for success.... i wear jeans and sneakers all the time... its about your knowledge
3. dont have their own business cards..... with the internet the way it is ... you dont need a business card... if you have a catchy domain, i dont see the issue here.
Not necessarily
If you want to land a big fish, many times you have to look the part. You can place a steak on fine china or a paper plate. Same steak, different presentation. If you travel alot like me, you meet people on planes and in restaurants. They may forget the catchy name of your website. My business card reminds them of my name, e-fax, my cell phone number and website. Alot of information to leave to chance. A business card allows you to look prepared for the unexpected. When I travel around the country, I have alot of different chauffeurs. Sometimes the ride from the airport to the hotel is short. Business card is a life saver. At least this are the tips that work for me. First step before any opportunity selling occurs is rapport building. Why would I want to buy something from a stranger without first building rapport.

It is a better understanding of how you do things. Having a card and putting a fine steak on a paper plate does change the presentation.
What I see your speaking of is offline advertising. A newbie needs to be taught all those methods. Do you teach your style of marketing?
