Okay, I'm thinking that the team I'm on for my opportunity has things pretty well nailed. The company presentation, which is a really good one, takes 45 minutes. Now, most people we talk to don't want to spend 45 minutes because they're under pressure from the rest of their lives. That's fine.
So, our team cuts to the bare bones and gets the presentation down to 10 minutes. That presentation has all the information anyone needs to get a solid idea of the business and how to do it. We end up talking to more people and signing up more people. We rock!
Then, I'm working with Michael Dlouhy's materials and he says, "What is your 60 second presentation?" What?! I read on. The man is serious! He wants me to boil down the whole presentation to 60 seconds! How do you encapsulate the business in 60 seconds? I say to myself, "he's nuts."
But I keep thinking about it. His point is that if you can encapsulate your opportunity in 60 seconds, you can change the dynamic from you approaching them to them approaching you. Suddenly, they're more invested in the whole thing, which makes them more likely to sign up.
So, now I'm working on a 60 second presentation that will make them ask me for "the other 9 minutes" of my team's presentation. It's not that easy, but also not as hard as it seems. I've got a couple of versions all ready to try out today. I'll let you know how that goes.
