Making a Difference in a Life - for Generations to Come

One of the books I'm reading right now is "The Highest Duty", by Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger. It is his autobiographical story written after he landed USAir flight 1549 in the Hudson River on January 15, 2009 - 2 years ago now.

Towards the end of the book Capt. Sully shares a letter he received from a woman whose father witnessed the plane landing in the river. In the letter she writes about the Jewish view that if you save one person, you neve know what he or she might go on to accomplish, or how his or her progeny might contribute to peace and healing in the world.

Specifically the woman named Bracha wrote, "May you the joy of having saved generations of people, allowing them the possibility of humanitarianism such as yours. Bless you Captain Sullenberger."

This touched me so much when I read it. Many who I know in network marketing, got involved in this profession to truly make a meaningful difference in the lives of others -- whether through their specific products or through helping people achieve the financial freedom they desire. After reading this idea and quote in the book, I was moved to think about how we too, effect future generations by what we do.

It's not as momentous as saving 155 lives at a time in a disabled airliner. But in many ways, their are lives saved every day in our business..and those saved lives mean that future generations will be created and grow up.. And who knows the destiny of those people and what just one may do to change the world!
