Do You Have A Strong Enough "WHY"?
I believe self motivation derives from a strong enough reason of WHY we do what we do.
When one knows WHY we are doing something we develop the passion to do it -- and from that
passion comes the creativity to perform at our best in our own individual endeavors.
I am reminded of a perfect example on self motivation by the story of Bruce Jenner, 1976 Summer Olympics decathlete and gold medal winner.
Bruce was highly motivated by his reason to win the gold medal in the decathlon event.
His WHY, I'm certain, was very deep and personal to him, and likely included: fame, endorsements, history making, popularity, being named Most Outstanding Athlete of the Games, etc., etc.
So strong was his motivation, that his whole house was decorated to remind him of each event he would be participating in.
All throughout the house were all sorts of training equipment, photos, books, films, and other items of importance that allowed him to stay focused on his ultimate goal.
But what was most interesting to me was learning that he kept a high bar in the middle of his living room, placed there to force him to walk under it or over it, and around it, to serve as a reminder that he needed to improve his high jump.
Needless to say, the results were a foregone conclusion.
A big enough reason of why we're involved in a business opportunity we deem worthy goes a long way in motivating us to keep moving forward when that little voice keeps telling us that it's not worth the trouble.
Yours in success,
David
