HOW A SPONTANEOUS ACT OF KINDNESS SAVED MY LIFE

I took my son to the Hospital for the doctors to treat him. We were asked to run some test,so we went to the teaching hospital's lab to run it. When we got there, the Doctors at the lab were very desperate. A preterm baby needed urgent fresh blood from a donor. The mother could not donate to her because the mother's blood count was very low and the doctors did not have any one on ground whose blood group A+ matched that of the baby.

when I heard what was happening, I volunteered immediately to donate the blood for the little baby girl. So some sample of my blood was taken to cross match with that of the child.

While we were waiting for the result, the baby suddenly improved and the doctors told me that there was no need for a fresh blood for the baby, That they could make do with the older blood samples they had in the blood bank.So they thanked me for volunteering. Meanwhile, before I left, the lab scientist informed the doctor that my blood matching result was out. That was when I got the shocker and blessing of my life.

The lab guy said my blood PVC level was at 33% while the normal adult male range was 45-50%.

Infact my sick one year old son's PCV was at 28%. The doctor advised me to immediately start taking blood tonic, improve my diet immediately because with such a low PVC one could just be walking and suddenly drop dead.

So I was just thinking what would have happened if I had not volunteered to help a sick little girl I never got to see. I think I need to see her to say thank you for saving my life.
