2 Easy Tips For Managing Distractions
Ever had too much work and not enough day?
Who invented the rule of only 24 hours in a day anyway?
Here's a couple of distraction management tips I've started in my own business.
1. The Dreaded Email Inbox.
In order to manage my distractions better, one thing that I am now doing is reading my emails at the END of the day rather than first thing.
I subscribe to quite a few email lists for products, services and blogs that I find of particular interest. Love the content, but reading those emails can be a HUGE distraction for me and set me off of my desired path for the day.
I find that diving right into my day (after meditation), and assigning email reading as my last task, provides greater efficiency and much less distraction.
Email is essential, especially if you email market, but it's tireless knock at the door can be managed.
2. RSS Feed Versus Email Subscriptions
Another thing I am now implementing is subscribing to RSS Feeds for desired information rather that email lists/subscriptions. This way I can read all my feeds (I use Google Reader) at one time - again providing less distraction.
Little trick: Use "List View" in Google Reader rather than "Expanded View"
